I don't know it was ever really declared by anyone. But certainly as low as the South got, a defeated humiliated impoverished ignorant racist bigot gang of traitors and treasonous outlaws, its a cinch they would "rise" from that ruin.but they haven't risen all that far in my book. Like father like son.

It has risen again. Look at the demographic trends.which states are losing population and Representitives in the House and which states are gaining them. Which part of "The rust belt" is south of the Mason-Dixon Line?

I hate to say it, but it is their values that politicians now play to in order to get elected. Bush didn't act like some rich New Englander with a Yale education to win people over. He acted like a rootin' tootin' aww shucks Texan and people just ATE IT UP.
The South lost the war, but won the battle and that is a sad thing. That is why I hope and pray that the wing states will one day secede. There was a star on the confederate flag for my state and there are people here who fly that thing "with pride" and I can tell you that there is really nothing in this way of life to be proud of.

A lot of people are still bitter about the war between the states. Personally I would have liked to see the South win. However, Mexico is a different south. I say NO AMNESTY and enforce our present laws. Penalize employers who hire illegal immigrants. Build a wall and secure our borders. Vote for Tom Tancredo.
