has all the legal information about going to Canada. Now, if you're illegal here and you leave, i think there's a 10yr penalty for leaving the US, im not sure if you'll be able to come back in once you're a Canadian resident, so that's something to think about.

I would guess very difficult. Goverment helps only asylim cases I believe. If you are applying from US, You need to be legal in US - They have this provision.
I don't think you can .if you are in the US illegally ,how do you think you could go anywhere official to try,with out being arrested and deported ? Or maybe you can go to a church in Chicago and hang out for months on end,while fleecing the people that would support you .(bleeding heart liberals,etc)
