Ummm...who is "they"?? The immigration quotas dispute what you are trying to say. The U.S. does not only immigrate Europeans...Mexico is one of the largest (legal) immigrant nations into the U.S.
Every country is racist, not just the USA. Its not about not wanting Mexican's to come into the country, they just want to control when people come into it.

Those wanting to come here and change our lifestyle to their liking is wrong and not racist. All people on the planet are prone to their bigotries, not just Americans. I don't know why you must single out Americans since the United States, comparative to European countries especially, has a loose immigration policy and a low bar for becoming an American citizen. (For example, you're a citizen if you're born here, no matter what, which is called the law of birth. Many European countries implement 'law of blood.') Sure, some Americans are racist, but that's a problem around the world, which is why there are ethnic conflicts, genocides, wars, and all the rest.
Mexicans aren't just brown-skinned, they also often aren't educated beyond the sixth grade and they may bring hepatitis or even leprosy into the US. White people from Europe more often have college degrees and come from places where you can drink the water. This isn't racism, it's common sense in selecting new citizens. Traditionally, America gained from immigration because immigrants were usually as well-educated as Americans.
We are NOT racist! We want people to obey our laws! I don't care where the illegal alien comes from. If he/she is illegal they shouldn't be here! If they are breaking our laws, they are criminals!

Now to answer your question.I don't think the MAJORITY of Americans are RACIST.Some are and most of us don't like them either.I think alot of us are tired of having to be ashamed we're white and we see other nationalities being given all kinds of rights while rights for whites are becoming less and less.To truly get rid of racism in America ALL ethnic groups MUST be treated with dignity and respect.Racism goes both ways.I have been verbally attacked by people of different ethnic groups but if I tried to take it to court it wouldn't get anywhere.But if another ethnic group took me to court I would be charged with racism.It's not fair.We whites also hate other whites who deliberately try to provoke people of other ethnic groups and then say "see this is how they treat us".Well no duh.Draw a line in the dirt and dare me to cross it and I'll cross just to prove a point.I hate racism on all sides.Not all illegals are bad and are decent people.But we only HEAR about the bad ones because they have done something news worthy.Maybe the news should start showing some of the positive sides of the story so people DON"T get just a bad picture.I blame the media for alot of the unrest our country is going thru right now.Good American citizens are being vilified for there views which are influenced by bad media coverage of situations.

"Americans" encompasses so many races in its self that your question just doesn't make sense. I think it's interesting how some of the response claims you are ignorant(should have researched more before posting such a question), yet they choose to use expletives to show just how intelligent they are. Racism is not going away. It is something the world over has to deal with. If all you wanted to do was stir peoples emotions on a very sensitive subject you have succeeded. If you are honest in your questioning then perhaps learn more of what you ask before you ask.
If your become a LEGAL citizen and pay TAXES then come on in.
Americans are sick of getting taken advantage of. It pisses me off that some of the money I pay for taxes goes to support some person who is breaking the LAW by being here.

I am so sick of Mexicans coming here illegally and using the system, raising the crime rate, having babies that they can't afford, and expecting the US to become bilingual. I couldn't care less if you think I am racist but I wasn't born with these opinions. I have them because I have lived around these people and see how lazy they are with NO motivation to better themselves.
