I have a moral dilemna about immigration. Help?

Yes blame the politicians who use immigration as a hate tool to get elected. They are spending $ billions in Iraq but we don't here much about that. And they still haven't helped those poor people in New Orleans.so scapegoating Hispanics is the easiest and pretty cheap way of diverting attention & getting elected. And the hoardes of ignorant bigots just follow like sheep.
I feel like they want to kills us right in there, did you hear what that dumb Asz politician said, "the wall to me is like when I try to keep my sheep inside if they try to go out they will be electrocuted" what the hell is that? I feel as we are creating hate towards people that most only want to better themselves here. I thought the US wanted more working people for their own money deals. They are also making legalization harder! knowing full well that they will get money out of these people. I hate it how they talk about Hispanics. They are my people!!
Regardless of the nature of an illegals personality, it is a crime to come into this country illegally. If your good friends with someone and he or she steals, does being friends with that person make him or her less of a criminal? I think not.
Those Mexicans that contribute to society and live a good life should deserve to stay. However those numbers are very few compared to Mexicans that cross the border illegally and become crimanals and then live off the U.S. government wellfare.
I believe that the immigrants that are already living in the country should not be sent back. I do however, believe that the border should be strictly guarded so that no more will come in. We cannot store so many people even if we wanted to. No country in the world wants to have their country invaded by foreigners. No country!
As for the U.S. helping Mexico, I don't think the U.S. should be giving money to any country. Mexico can take care of them selves. It's not like they are starving like Haiti or people in Darfur.
I suggest that you buy as many women's magazines as possible and read them until all hours of the night. They will tell you exactly how you should live every moment of your life.
I'd like to clarify what might be related to your problem. I, for one, have NO problem with immigration. This country grew great through immigration. I DO, however, have a problem with ILLEGAL immigration. Perhaps that is where your problem lies? Mexico is not behaving responsibly toward either any of their citizens heading north illegally, or any other persons traveling through Mexico to do the same thing. That is Mexico's problem, not yours. The United States has worked continuously to improve the economic situation of our neighbors to the south, but there are limits, and illegal immigration is one of those limits.
I think you should look at it as a legal issue. If someone broke into your house and stole everything, would you still hesitate to place the blame where it belongs?
Mexico is not a poor country it is a poorly run country. Do not feel guilty around your Mexican friends who came here legally.
Many of them are against the illegals as well.
I feel the same as you. I have grandchildren that are part Hispanic. They are the loves of my life. I am just so sick of this situation. I resent being called racist, because I am not.
I come from a racist family, but for some reason, I have been color blind my entire life. This illegal immigration is out of control. It is not their color, or the way they look, it's the damned attitude.
Illegal immigration is causing middle class Americans to lose jobs. Many are now working two low pay jobs without medical while illegals pocket tax free money and get free medical care. Every week our newspaper has 6 to 13 sheriff sales in the paper from people losing their homes. Medical debt among the middle class is the leading cause of bankruptcy in this country. We have just had two murders in the news by illegals that will probably never be prosecuted.Their is no reason people can't come here legally. We are at war and our borders are unprotected. Loving our neighbor starts within the law of our own country.
How much of the money would actually reach where it is suppose to go. With Mexico being so corrupted is there really anybody there who we can trust ? Why is up to America to solve Mexico's problems?
I know what you mean.. I have good friends that are Mexican,but they are all legal. Some of their friends are ILLEGAL,but many of them are good people. The bottom line Is that If they truly want to become an American Citizen,they need to do It the right way,and get In line behind everyone else. If they started to show a little good faith,and returned voluntarily In great numbers,the American public would probably look at their situation In a different light. Waving the Mexican flag,and calling Americans "RACISTS" will NOT help to further their cause.
The Mexicans are coming up here looking for what their government no longer provides, steady jobs. I've met alot of Mexicans that are hard working, honest people that work when and where they are told to, unlike most of the US citizens. You should direct your anger at their government and
the ones that come up here to draw food stamps and disability. The lazy ones should be reported anytime and anywhere.
As was very evident in the past few weeks and the illegal alien demonstrations,the mainline Christian Churches all demanded that the illegal aliens be given amnesty as giving them amnesty was/is required by the Christian moral/ethical code.The only dissenting denomination were as expected some Christian fundamentalist Churchs .This denoimination is the one who gave God's blessing to slavery so can be dismissed for what they are, RACISTS.
So if you are a Christian and adhere to Christ's moral/ethical code you have no dilemma
We all feel that way it is called frustration. Because we know the inequality in Mexico is horrible. We know deep down if we could get out and make more than $2. a day we would to.
But we feel frustration when we hear about illegal immigration doing bad things for the economy. some are ruining it for the ones who work hard and don't sell drugs to our kids. The unfairness of the whole situation is very distressing and we see no way out.
To me that is a much more important problem than the war in Iraq keeping two extemist muslims from kiling each other when they hate us and want us to leave.
I say get out and let them kill each other if that is what they want to do. Why are we dieing to stop them?
I can appreciate your dilemma. I sometimes feel the same way. However, the US IS helping Mexico's economy by allowing so many illegal immigrants to remain here in the US (don't you know that if they really wanted they would crack down on all the industries who employ the illegals?)
Allowing so many illegals in supports Mexico in that they send money home.
Vicente Fox spoke (almost demanded) Bush allow this before he left office.

Fact is this..if they are illegal, they broke the law. The type of racism that Americans feel toward Latinos has nothing to do with how they look. Immigration in this country works well as long as an immigrating population throws out their practices that conflict with democracy. Most people run from the question of why Hispanics have caused a backlash more than other immigrating populations. The main conflict between American culture and Latino culture is the treatment of women. It is not a stereotype that Latino workers are notorious sexual harassers. There is a general feeling of unease in women having to walk past Mexican immigrants as opposed to Chinese immigrants. Even American men feel that machismo culture is a threat to the freedoms of American women, and one reason for Mexico's suffering economy is that women have little rights.
The second irritant to Americans towards an immigrant population is its population size. Most Latinos are Catholic and their cultural ideals encourage large family size. This can stress our economic system, and a natural reaction is to feel the immigrating population is selfish. There was a similar backlash towards the Irish who also had large families.
Thirdly, a self-imposed isolation creates a backlash. This isolation has come in the form of refusing to learn the language. Through out history non-bilingual immigrants have been less respected by Americans. It also demonstrates a population that may not want to assimilate or contribute to society, but rather send money home. No other culture has threatened to change our main language as much as Latinos. Many Americans cannot get jobs without learning to speak Spanish, and it would be natural for us to become upset about this imbalance. We need to be focusing on learning Arabic instead. Unfortunately, people are seen as lazy or stupid for not being able to speak English, but if you look at how many Russian, Vietnamese, Jewish, and Sudanese immigrants learn English it seems rather unfair to cater to one group.
If Latinos had an average of 2.3 kids like Americans, lowered their crime statistics against women, and spoke even broken English, this conflict would not exist.
THIS IS FOR SARCASIM how dare you say something like that. In your definition what is an "alien or immigrate" ? When this world was first created it was land their was no walls. The white people decided to invade this country kill off any natives and got white people to write laws saying if you aren't white or rich you are consider an immigrate.

well i think our government shouldnt even be in this war. we should be helping mexico get rid of their money hoarding poloticians. if mexicos economy wasnt so bad, then we wouldnt have this problem. maybe we should just annex mexico and start rebuilding on our side of the world!
At what point is an individual responsible for what they do? If you know you are coming into a country illegally you know you are a criminal. I have friends that are Mexican, too. I have a nephew who came here from Mexico, I don't hate Mexicans, I do hate the illegals and their hate groups that talk of taking over our nation. Then accuse us of being racist when they are the ones talking about how they hate us? I believe that our people will take on the necessary steps to deport the illegals and get our country back to what it should be. My legal friends hate the illegals also. Try to realize that it's a legal issue not a Mexican one and you'll get over the feeling of dishonoring your legal friends.
