The state Medi-Cal program is now paying for the delivery of about 100,000 children born to illegal immigrants each year.
Such births and related expenses account for more than $400 million of the nearly $1 billion Medi-Cal spends annually on health care for undocumented people, covering everything from pregnancy tests to postpartum checkups.
The fact that children born here have a U.S. citizenship "birthright" angers anti-illegal immigration groups.
They say such largesse provides an incentive for illegals to invade our state.
In Los Angeles County's public and private hospitals, undocumented women accounted for 41,240 Medi-Cal births in 2004. That accounting came to about half the deliveries covered by the public program.
In the four county-run hospitals alone, undocumented women and their newborns will receive more than $20 million in delivery, recovery, nursery and neonatal intensive care unit services this year.

THEY get a TON of free healthcare.. Every ER visit is minimum $500..even if they just get a band aid.. Every baby they have cost taxpayers $10,000 or more just for the birth, not counting if something goes wrong.. I have been in ER's and illegals come in and they are always seen first even if someone is having a migraine or chest pain (which could be something serious) .. They even qualify for liver transplants, etc. ..those cost millions of dollars... The MED ..a hospital In Memphis TN is shutting their doors because they have had so many patients that DID NOT pay that they can't afford to keep it open.. That is the biggest hospital with in 3 hours of hear.. They treat hundreds of milllions of patients yearly and employ several thousand.. now where are those patients going to go...employees must find a new job and Now people will have to travel 3 more hours (5 from here) to find decent healthcare. Stats prove that they screw the system and WE pay for it.
Just like you said they will bleed our system dry and we will have all the punch bowl floater in d. c. to thank for that one...
They do get free healthcare. I have to pay for mine and still do not have as good coverage as they do.
Two weeks ago, my brother and his wife had a baby. When I went to visit them in the hospital, most of the patients in there were Mexicans. When the nurse came in, she said to go to the emergency room, where illegals were coming in by the dozens with the sniffles. Since they were illegal, they got a free visit and free medicine. Meanwhile, the illegals in the maternity ward, didn't have to pay for their hospital visit. They didn't have to pay for the epideryl, they didn't have to pay for anything, while my brother spent thousands. All of you who say that Mexicans don't get free health care need to take a closer look. Hospitals all over the country are going bankrupt and shutting down. Illegals are bad for this country. They are not good in any way, shape, or form.
i wonder how bush is feeling knowing the rich is losing money because of the illegals? we americans need to get a petition started on any child born to illegals in the united states will not be granted american citizenship. we need to act fast and now before they close anymore hospitals down and really cripple this country. if we put a stop to their anchor baby's becoming citizens then they will stop having them here. maybe they will start taking birth control pill's. they are breeding like cat's and dog's. hell they killed the damn rabbit a long time ago.
I would like to point out you are talking about the Medi-Cal program its something the STATE of California does. Not all states have programs like that. CA happens to be very socialist in nature states like TX, GA, TN, AR, OK if you are poor and do not have access to Medicaid or Medicare you are in a tough spot.
No surprise that illegal immigrants who are pregnant and their babies get Medicaid. US citizens who meet the same poverty guidelines receive the same benefit. The mother loses Medicaid once the child is born. Would you turn your back on an unborn child? I would not.
Illegal immigrants do not get free ER or hospital care. It is uncompensated care. There are many US citizens who receive uncompensated care via the ER and hospital as well.
We have the government to thank. Big corporations own the politicians, and the illegals are valuable to them, so they make us foot the bill. Nice, hu? You think that's upsetting....check this out.

It is very easy to research each and every thing you are buying and to stop supporting companies that are making all the crap possible This also happens to enable you to support companies that are good.
it answers ur question only if u pay attention to what ur reading they r not getting free medical care the ones dat r getting it r the newborns because is their right for being born here no matter whos their parent...duh...
