oh wow you are almost in the same position i am.my fiance lives in WA state also, and i'm a canadian citizen living in saskatchewan. i just got back from the states last week and i was there for 5 months. if your girl wants to work, then you will need to file a form for her, then once your form has been accepted, then she needs to file one so she can work. if she's only going to be there for 2 months, then maybe she can just get work being a migrant worker-fruit or what not.
she could ask her company to sponsor her and then that would speed up the process, but the whole thing takes at least 6 weeks, so by the time she gets the papers, then she has to go back.
now, they don't tell you this at the border, but canadians can legally stay in the US for 6 months if they don't work.

Everyone needs a passport to travel overseas and yes she would need a visa to work in the US
