The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and its Office of Immigration Statistics (OIS) keep tabs on immigration statistics with their annual yearbooks released at the end of each fiscal year. The latest offering from September, 2004, shows India winning the battle for second place in naturalized American citizens. [Yearbook of immigration statistics for 2003 -- PDF, page 134].
“Mexico was the leading country of birth for persons naturalizing in 2003, accounting for 56,093 new citizens. Other major countries of birth for persons naturalizing in 2003 were India (29,790), the Philippines (29,081) Vietnam (25,995), the People’s Republic of China (24,014). . .”
A VDARE.COM reader has described the growing Indian diaspora in the U.S. and its connection to what might be some sort of coordinated effort of gaining economic leverage or advantage.
Maybe so. But could it be that Indian immigrants, like most others, are just coming to the U.S. because they can? There’s precious little (if anything) stopping them.

“Why would anybody living in Democracy like India want to Migrate? Yet Indians are the largest migrants to USA only next to Mexicans.
“These are economic migrants, and their agenda is to bring dollars to India because they can't bring it any other way. The GAS stations in USA are mostly owned by Indians, 10% of all doctors are of Indian origin, and now Software is flooding Indians into every nook and corner. Many Motels and Hotels are owned by Indian Gujaratis. If this is not checked, somehow Indians will gain political voice in USA (many are trying).
“From here I can see the people are feeling successful of their government’s agenda of migrating technocrats to USA especially. First they opened standard institutions like [Indian Institute of Technology] IIT, now education has become substandard here with every street selling a degree in engineering. Yet they are allowed to get jobs in USA, because America is not paying close attention to what is going on in reality.
“I don’t have to explicitly say more on this, the statistics will speak for themselves.
“But India and Indians are not a progressive society, they are survivalistic in attitude and actions and thought, this is the glitch.
“They are not taking hard jobs or having any hardships as previous migrants in last century had. They land in planes and grab better jobs, they bring their religion along with them (Hindu or Muslim mostly).
“Many things negative can be seen in a perspective, not that I have personal prejudice against it, but I see lot of bad things.

If over-the-border illegal immigration is ever somehow curtailed, the second tier countries in American immigration numbers might well catch up.
Illegal immigration is only part of the problem. We need reform—reduction—of legal immigration, too
Rest assured, there are countless more Indians ready and waiting for jobs in America.

Indians aren't coming to take over America. They come for a better and more stable PERSONAL socio-economic life.

Yep, all true, they will immigrate one at a time and then when they reach the numbers they want, they will turn against the USA just like they did/doing in Great Britain.
Much of what you say is true for me as well. However, legal immigration is not the problem. If these folks, Mexican included, want to come here, at least as far as I can see our laws welcome them. I trust that to a point. My concern is that when we allow any given culture, who obviously speak a different language and come here ind droves ILLEGALLY to do their thing, we are begginf for a disaster ...and it' is happening.
The Indians for the most part speak English. The Mexicans do not. The Indians seem to adapt to life in a Democracy, the Mexicans do not do so well. I don't believe I have ever heard of a East Indian gangster. I'm sure they are out there but ever so subtly.
The Meican illegal debacle is a huge problem and will ruin the US if not ammended soon. IT's tha simple from where I sit. I see no such problem from Indians or anyone else.
Why are Mexicanos such a problem source. I guess there are a lot of answers but who's listening?
i appreciate your well researched point of view. i feel though that you forget along with all other Americans like yourself that this AMERICA the MELTING POT. this is a place where people can come and find jobs and money and do with it what ever the hell they want. your ancestors came here and raped, maimed, and killed to live here. if anyone should leave its people of your decent. this is not Great Britain, Ireland, France, Scotland or Germany. so if i am correct my friend you could go back to your perspective country of origin just as easily as anyone else. you stay for the same reason they come. it just seems that Indians are more intelligent and know how to graduate from college and get doctorate degrees, all the while your people struggle for jobs at walmart. just accept what America really is and try to go to college and get a real education. good luck with that. rest assured your your people are the reason why this country is going down the tubes in the first place.
We need to reduce ALL immigration into the USA. It has nothing to do with where they are from, it has to do completely with the NUMBERS coming into the USA. I have posted this video many times. Please watch it. We need to reduce all immigration to 200,000 per year or life as we know it will end. Our country will be rife with crime, we will not be capable of providing enough schools, water sanitation plants, housing, jobs. Our cities will spread out to our farmlands and forests. Urban sprawl will be everywhere. Our forests will be depleted faster than we can replenish them. Our waterways will be extremely polluted. Society will have deteriorated to the point no one will want to live here. Please watch this video, this is not a conjecture, this is not a probability, this IS where we are headed and if we don't curtail immigration this WILL happen:

christian (above)Is living in a delusional world if he honestly thinks ALL Americans are college material. Many of us do go on to acquire higher educations, but all Americans don't. They are the ones illegal immigrants are hurting the most. Some people just aren't college material. Many people in the USA don't have a High School education. "Why" is irrelevant. The fact is they need jobs too, and if they are willing to do the job they should get paid at a rate that is above a third world wage. They are still American citizens. Those are the people that WILL and HAVE done the jobs the illegals claim Americans won't do.
Sure the USA is a Melting Pot... and the pot is full. If we don't stop adding to it, it's going to pile up and the USA will be nothing but a pile of $h*t . We'll be a first class cesspool.
