My son marrried a woman from Guatemala, but she isn't allowed to come to visit here in america, what can we do?
Answer:
They won't let her come because she's at a VERY high risk to overstay.
She's eligible to come to the US, on an immigrant visa, as his wife. If they've been married over two years she does not even need to come on a conditional status. She will get a Green Card immediately. Of course, this means she and your son would have to live in the United States. She'd lose her Green Card if she stayed outside the United States for over a year and be in the same position she's in now.
There's nothing you can do. Your son has made a life for himself in Guatemala.
The big problems will happen when they have children. The kids will be US citzens, but if they don't actually live in the United States for 5 or more years their children (son's grand-children) will NOT be US citizens.
Take the long drive through Mexico
im from Guatemala
: }
im not sure maybe call the american government in gallamala if there is any.
Go visit her in Guatemala, they probably think that once she gets here she will not go back
Have you tried contacting your Senator or Congressmember?
It may help you to get some answers without having to deal with all the lowlevel papershufflers.
Obtaining visitor visas from the three mostly Amerindian countries (Guatemala, Peru and Bolivia) in Latin America is impossible.
You will have to visit her.
If she is white and of mostly Spaniard stock, she could apply for a visa in Spain and once she gets it, apply for the USA. Even that is a long shot, unless she is quite white skinned and has light colored hair and eyes.
What you are asking is how to break the law and not get caught! All I can tell you is sorry I support immigration laws!
If he can qualify for a Guatemalan Green card, then maybe the rest of you can move or visit there and live in style, teaching English or opening a business with your greenbacks...
Don't be scared of going to the rest of the world.. Central America can be a blast..., although you will have to put up with some hassles you might not be used to, it is a tropical paradise...
How much of the USA is like that, Hawaii? Florida? I'll bet Guatemala has less stringent living than those millionaire havens.
Unfortunately, INS doesn't owe you an explanation. And you are at their mercy. Its just bad timing with all the immigration from Latin America. They are getting more strict entry into this country.
funny how he didn't think of this before he married her.hm...i'm sure she knew
so...how much money does he send her
