We just filed the my wife's Petition to Remove the Conditions of Residence I-751 on June 16, 2007, but her green card expires on AUG 23. I know the application was supposed to be mailed 90 days in advance, but i didn't see the notice until 13 JUNE, 2007. The problems is, its more than 3 weeks now since they received it and we still don't have an application receipt notice from them yet. How long does it take for them to mail this (receipt notice) out? should we be concerned about this receipt notice. My wife is employeed now, will she have problems with the expired green card. Secondly, we have tickets to travel out of the country this December 2007 and to come back in january. Should we visit the service center to speak to them now or wait till around October. Or do you think we might have everything resolved before then? They are still processing receipt date of December 2006. What should we do?

Do not panic...
As long as you have filed the l-751 before the 90 period is up, you will be fine.you should receive your notice shortly as the govt is a little slow on these things...
If you are that worried, make an appointment thru infopass on the USCIS website...but I assure you that you will be fine.
If you need to travel, then apply for advance parole if possible..
There's no problem filing late. But I'll tell you this, it's doubtful she'll have her permanent green card in hand by December. It's doubtful you'd have it even if you filed exactly 90 days before the conditional card expires. She should be able to travel on temporary documents.
