I'm on an H4 visa which will expire in 2008. I plan to leave United States this March 2007 and come back after a month. Do I need to have a re-entry permit? Do I need to accomplish any other documents with the INS (aside from I-94) concerning my planned travel? Thx
Answer:
No, you do not need a Re-entry Permit. As long as the holder of the H1B to which your visa is tied is still in status, you may depart and re-enter the US as planned.
contact your local immigration office or a good qualified immigration attorney
You should be fine as long as your visa stamp in your passport hasn't expired. If it has, you'll need to schedule an appointment with your US consulate or embassy in your country to get it renewed for re-entry.
