Yes -- but not on all streets and not at all hours. Caution is warranted at certain times and places.
No..not here atleast. There are places you cannot go here after dark and it's getting to the point it's not even safe in the day.

Yea, in most places. Some others I have worry, but here all I worry about is tree sap getting on my car, oh and the occasional wild dog or attack dog.

I feel pretty safe walking through Manhattan, where I work, almost any hour of the day or night.
But I am terrified to walk the main street in my suburban hometown after dark. There have been too many drug related crimes, stabbings, rapes, etc., thanks to all the Hispanic gangs that have set up shop.
Most people "feel" safe. Doesn't mean they are though. This most recent election has emboldened those who would do us harm. It confirmed to them that most Americans "feel" safe, and don't really understand the danger that's coming.
I felt safer living in San Francisco than I do living within five miles of the Mexican Border. Mexican Drug Gangs armed with AK47s control the night here.
For the most part yes, I do, now, I live in KC, KS & have crime, drugs, drive-bys, robberies & rapes,. all around me night & day. I use common sense & try to stay aware of my surroundings. Most violent crimes are committed by someone known to the victim. Most drivebys & shootings are drug related. I work nights & on my off days stay on my schedule by staying up at night but I take caution if I go out shopping or about at night. I also have a big dog to warn me if someone is around when I am unable to hear what they can hear & to make it a little more intimidating or as easy for an intruder to just walk into my home. I have my home lit up at night, we have a neighborhood watch group & we stay in contact in our yards, email, (we even get emails from a local policeman that keeps us up to date on the problems or things we need to be aware of in our neighborhood).
What scares me the most is the local daily news & the sound of gunfire around me at all times of day & night. I am afraid of getting use to it.
What scares me more is how horrific are other countries if foreigners are coming into our country by the thousands everyday for a better life? How long will it be better here if immigrants are coming in by the thousands everyday? Won't the crime & drama & desperation come with too many people in this country & not enough jobs, food, money, fuel, housing, land..
How long before we are another 3rd or even 4th world country that people are trying to get OUT of? Where will we all go? Can we survive?
