They will regret it. Look at all the gun-crime something that was unknown of in Uk. If the government carry's on like this i am afraid you will end up living in a country slowly turning into S-Africa. Murder, crime etc. Guns, ak47's etc etc.
Personally I would just stick them all in a massive hole and make them dig until they die.That would solve prison overcrowding I would even buy a shovel for them.

I also heard about a foreigner who came here with a forged british passport. He stayed for a few months and didn't like it so decided to go home. He was stopped at heathrow when they discovered the forged document and instead of letting him get on the plane and go home, they arrested him and have jailed him for 8 months! He is now going to cost the tax payers money.
doesn't suprize me in the least, people in the world have come to a point where they have been so brainwashed by "the rule of law , you can kill people and if noone saw it theyd fight to get you off". Sad
I thought things were bad here in the US, at least we don't pay them. We just can't get rid of illegals.
Their case's should not be considered they should be deported the moment they leave prison........they should forgo all rights by doing what ever they did in the first place.....sorry time to harden up
I agree with Sylvie C - deportation for those that have abused their chance to have a better life here, especially for those that have taken a life here - and that includes rapists and paedophiles whether their offence involved murder or not as they essentially take their victims life (as they knew it) away.
I guess we just found out where some of our taxes go....
I've only read the yahoo news article on this, but I don't think the "dangerous" convicts freed were the same ones who received £55,000. (between 9 people an average of a bit over £6,100)
People who pose a serious risk to public safety should not be released unless deported to their country of origin.
However, we spend a lot of time, energy and money detaining those who should not be in prison at all (the mentally ill, drug addicts, Council tax protesters etc.) which could be better spent in most public services.
Public sector organisations need to be held accountable to those who pick up their bills (i.e. UK taxpayers) in much the same way that companies are accountable to shareholders, otherwise the kind of inefficiency and money-wasting endemic to the Home Office, NHS, HMP etc. will continue and people will lose patience with perceived government incompetence.
It is just another disgrace to add to Tony's resume ...he could write a book about it when he is finally dragged kicking and screaming from no.10

no compensation should be given to those who comit dreadful cfrimes unless they have been framed and gone to prison for something they didnt do which does happen as for tghe rest of the loa life trash they should be hung drawn and quartered not given money .
the law in this country sucks. its just nowhere near tough enough. people get to prison where they get gyms tvs and other luxuries at our expense and then get let out early to do it again or get compensation. its ludacris. government need to wake up and stop penalising innocent people by using their money to pay for criminals benefit. all foreign criminals (not born here) should be sent to their own country to be dealt with
