How long u will wait to apply passport in uk , scottland?
Answer:
You can do one of four things - 1) Go to the post office, fill in the form, and post it. This takes about 3-4 weeks. 2) Go to the post office, fill in the form and send it via 'send and check' from the post office - this takes about 2 weeks, but IS NOT GARUNTEED. 3) Phone the passport office on 0870 521 0410 and arrange a fast track passport appointment. You have to fill in the form and take it to your nearest passport office. You have to pay extra for this, but it's garunteed to be with you in a week. 4) Phone the same number and ask for express (or something) essentially you go to the passport office, pay a LOT more than usual, but get your passport in about 4 hours.
When my husband and children got their passports it was a NIGHTMARE!!! You have to have a person of 'high standing' in the community sign the back of your passport photographs and the Passport office will only accept 'certain' people and reject others. The forms are long and tideous and require a lot of unnecessary information.
Getting the POST OFFICE to take our applications was what took the most time... They were very picky... and when filling out the forms if even one little letter was outside the box a bit- they wouldn't take it...
We are in Scotland ourselves, so I imagine you might have the same garbage to go through.
But the other answer is correct- it takes about 2-4 weeks by post and hours in person if you want to pay the high costs.
My advice- is to get all your paperwork in order and make sure your photos are SIGNED!!!
Good luck.
