Retire to india?

I am a Canadian Citizen, none-Indian background, and like to live in India. Many countries have someting called 'retirement visa' but India DOES NOT even wants foreigners to live permanently there!

Why? Wouldn't be good if many of us live there, not working, and contribute to the economy?

Answer:
Are you crazy? India, there is like 9 million Indians leaving outside India does that proof that its a horrible country to live in or not?

If you wanna retire somewhere outside your country try out countries who respect people like France, Aussie, Italy, Egypt, Dubay, South Africa. There you will get not only a permanent residence, but also a good healthcare coverage and you'll be respected at least.
I would highly recommend staying right where you are. Many Indians spend much of their lives trying to move AWAY from India. First of all, it's difficult to survive financially. Women are treated absolutely horrible and they're forced to wear skirts below the knees... even in scorching heat. Why on Earth would you choose India to retire in?

From what I've learned, India doesn't have too great of an economy. What little jobs/etc are there are taken up by people who have grown up in that country. I assume they wouldn't want people from other countries coming in and taking over their economy.

Retire in Canada! Who can say no to free health care? Or if you're intent on leaving Canada, retire in the US. We have one of the most (if not, THE MOST) strongest economies in the entire world.
This is unbelievable:

*To begin with, you can't even understand what you have read: this person wants to retire to India, not to take a job from others!
*The weather in most areas are better than southern USA.
*The best doctors are in India, yes it is true!
*Health care costs less than you are paying for your health plan.
* In some ways, the woman in India treated better.
*.Long skirts can be very comfortable in the summer.
*You don't know what is culture, wild life, rich history, friendly people, fantastic food, and inexpensive living.
*Is there any libraries where you live for you to get education? There is wealth of info on the net to spend your time learning instead of making wrong statements.
It probably would be a good idea to visit India and tour it extensively. That will give you both a clear picture of the country and also your options to settle down / retire there.

If you have an income from Canada and retire in India, your dollars would go much farther than in Canada and so you should be able to live luxuriously.
if you wanna live in india and got a lot of money go to bangalore or mumbai there maybe a few slums around but there are also some of the best residential areas believe me in india ud be able to afford the same products and same quality as in canada but for better prices and beautiful real estate if you know the right people
