I am a resident of the US and have been for 2 months, can i petition for my parents to be legal resident?
Answer:
THANK YOU FOR DOING THINGS RIGHT!!!!!! I hope you can become a citizen. I also hope that the illegal alien criminals don't get in front of you in line for citizenship.
As for your parents, don't know. Check with an immigration attorney. Make sure they are legal before they come.
CONGRATS on being an American LEGALLY!! Would you PLEASE show ALL those who are NOT how it is done????!!!! Thank you ahead of time! I would fight however you can to get your parents over here LEGALLY!! Good luck, pal!! And again, welcome!!
Dear Tica, you need to be a citizen in order to petition your parents. If you became a resident through your husband, you have to wait three years before you can apply to your citizenship. Once you become a citizen, you will be able to petition your parents, and it usually takes a year to get a green card. Also, you have to be a citizen to vote. Right now you cannot vote.

It takes about 3 years to do what you wish. Good luck
