How strong is the public interest that makes it so important to prevent illegal immigration?

Its MEGA strong, because the illegal immigration affects economically stabled countries , and therefore the ordinary people who live there , the crime levels, the economy etc.
I understand that everybody has a right to seek a better life but it is impossible to accommodate the whole population of Africa in England ( for example)
Unfortunately politicians prefer to avoid this question by using the Human Rights act as an excuse .
What about the human rights of people who live in these countries , work and pay taxes ???
The outcry against illegal alien criminals is growing. I doubt it will go away or even calm down - it should increase.
I think congress will be too afraid to do anything before the 2008 election because they are concerned about their own butts.
It is unfortunate that they are ignorant people out there, like "G.P." who call us "racist." This is totally false. We are not racist. We just want people to obey the law.

This movement is almost as much about emotionally reactionary responses to fear-mongering politicians as it is about real problems.
Whenever people get on the bandwagon to fight something they have not personally experienced the down-side of, they run the risk of making some pretty foolish statements.
Is it wrong to violate the laws? Yes Are some of the laws rediculous? Yes!
Some years ago -- before most of us were born -- there were other large waves of immigration -- Italians, Irish, Chinese, etc. ALL of these groups of people faced prejudice, mistrust, and violent backlashes. Some of the people from these countries brought their own unique brands of evil -- AND they brought the beautiful things about their cultures, foods, values, faiths... Some day, when there are some excellent leaders from among the groups we now fear, we will welcome them too.
The problem is that the Govt wants illegal immigrants. The govt pays no benefit to them, but ripes the benefit through tax. I tried to report an illegal immigrant but the police simply ignores. The question, why the british people are still so lazy?
By all public polls in the past 20 years in the USA, on every question regarding illegal immigration, from 82% to 97% of all polled Americans want for all illegal immigration stopped, all illegal immigrants deported, no amnesty, a wall on the border, a better secured border, employers of illegal aliens arrested, the military on the border, no guest worker program, put a stop to all remittances sent out of the USA, or tax all remittances sent out of the USA, no more amnesties, no college tuition for illegal aliens, no social services for illegal aliens, no food stamps for illegal aliens, no welfare checks for illegal aliens, no free medical care for illegal aliens, no more citizenship for anchor babies born to illegal alien parent(s) on US soil etc....
The people of the United States of America want our elected legislators to do something about this problem and if they don't they will not be re-elected.
How strong is the interest ? Well it looks like not strong enough yet. Yes people are mad as heck over this, and even mader that very little has been done to stop it. But we must remember that some will not wake up, and open there eyes til, the illegal immigrants are living right next door, on both sides of them.
Not strong at all its not the people we don't wont its all the drugs and the corruption that allot not all but allot bring with them .

You PEOPLE truly don't get it do you? Both sides need to be sent packing. Period. This is no longer political, It is fast approaching strategic with tactical implementations. Ken Berneke(with the Federal reserve) was interviewed by an oversight panel on illegal immigration. He said that these (terrorists) are in fact vital to the economy. Why is it when somebody fly two planes into financial pillars in this country is that terrorism, but when illegal invaders(i.e. terrorists) take to our streets to supposedly protest(i.e unconvential psychological warfare through coercion) thats not seen as terrorism, when point of fact it is. Remember the Bill of Rights don't apply to illegal immigrants ladies and gentlmen. Therefore their supposed nationwide protests were in fact nationwide certified acts of terrorism. You should not be financially supporting that anymore. It makes you just as guilty now that you knowingly know they are being financially supported.

What ever side that does not come out about stopping this illegal emigration will lose,what ever side that try to lie and cover up will be kicked out,in the end there is no other issue that is more important if you have no border you have no nation if you have no nation why do we fight?No this is the defining issue of our time if we lose we have no country.
We aren't parading in the streets yet to get the politicians to take notice! When we start doing that then maybe they will prevent illegal immigration.
