Becoming an immigration consultant?

I'm looking at becoming an immigration consultant, does anyone know where immgiration consultants find their information. The school will teach me how to open a consulting agency, but not how to find information. Would be great if anyone could provide this information. Thanks everybody for your answers.

Answer:
You should carefully and thoughtfully consider the consequences of becoming an Immigration consultant. I've spent years studying and practicing Immigration law and I learn something new every single day!

Some people think that it is easy to just learn about Immigration and to start giving out advice. This can land you in hot water and open you up to lawsuits for "unauthorized practice of law" under the laws of the state you live in. Besides, there is a strong push from Board Certified Immigration Lawyers for states to limit the ability of Immigration consultants to practice. Notarios already make an Immigration lawyers' job difficult because of improper filing of paperwork, bad advice, and just plain fraud. I would seriously check out the credentials of any "school" that will teach you how to open a consulting agency. If you want to legitimately give out Immigration advice, go to law school.
Law School???
