To host a foreign student?
Answer:
My best friend in 11th grade was a foreign exchange student , and she lived with a host family who had no children . The best thing to do would be to contact your local school boards head office to get in touch with the foreign exchange coordinator and they should be able to get you all the resources you would need to find a suitable program in your area be apply to apply to be a host family , Good luck!!!!
no, you don't have to "Ship" one of your own children off to be a host family. contact your local high school and they can lead you on your way.
I have known of several families who had alot of problems with exchange students, Im not saying they are all bad,but its a huge responsibility, maybe you could just volunteer at your kids school or something?
Of course if your kids know exchange students at their school maybe there are some good stories too. You couldnt pay me to take one!
No, you dont have to exchange one of your kids. Talk to your school.
if you are in the UK , contact the International Departments of your local Universities/ colleges, they all have the International students accommodation services . But all the host families I knew had quite problems... You live with somebody who comes from a different country, different culture, different everything . If you could put up with all their "requirements" - good luck .
