My husband and I have gone threw a immigrtion interview. We have been waiting for 3 months on an awnser. help?

They say it is the security check they are waiting on? What should we do? I call the lawyer 1 time a week and we still have heard nothing....help...i need some direction

Answer:
The security checks sometimes take awhile, so just be patient, it'll come through soon. Do you have anything in your background that you need to worry about? If not, either way, I've heard of other's who've taken 6 months to go through. Instead of going through your lawyer, you can always just call USCIS yourself and ask for an update on your case, you might find something out quicker that way. Good luck.
Consult with your lawyer, this sounds like am important matter.
Nothing else you can do now but wait, specially if your lawyer do not have any answer. Seriously, 3 months waiting seem not unusual, I have heard of people waiting 6 or more months.
Sometimes you have to bug them alot more than 1 time per week. They have all kinds of cases out there. You need to call them everyday, mabey 2 or 3 times a day.If you don't they will take their sweet old time. The more you bug them the more they'll just want to get you taken care of so you'll stop bothering them.It sucks, but that's the way it works.Good luck.
Don't worry Mandy. The best thing is to call Immigration or write them to find out your status. Also visit their website http://www.uscis.gov/portal/site/uscis...
If you moved or change your address within the last 6 months make sure that you updated the INS with your new address. There are many services and lawyers that are just a scam, be very careful. Good Luck!
The best you can do it wait. There is no way to speed up the process at DHS without asking for an expedite and those are only granted in extreme cases. Security checks can take a while to come back, be thankful you don't have to wait a year or more like some others do.
And someone else suggested you bug the heck out of them. if it is the lawyer you are bugging then fine but the more you call DHS the more time you take away from them being able to do their job. Let the people work and you will have your answer soon.
Just let them do their jobs without hastling them. Security checks are very importand. Three months is not that long of a time to be waiting.
it will take at least 3 more months calm down. they will send you a letter in the mail to let you know when to go to the consulate and then to get a visa stamp at the border. Good luck, i would be pretty pissed at your lawyer for not telling you that the process can take over a year!
calm down and while you wait, sign up for an English class (it's "through" not "threw" and immigration is spelled wrong)
