If illegals do "jobs Americans won't do", then explain to me why Swift Co. hired AMERICAN?
How about those AMERICANS in Stillmore,GA who were hired after the raid on illegals in THAT town? Those were so called 'jobs Americans won't do". They're doing them now, for a better wage AND benefits.
Where are those so called jobs 'Americans won't do'? In my hometown we have WHITE and BLACK American women as housekeepers in the hotels, Nannies, elderly caretakers, house and office cleaners (and they clean those toilets, too), meat processing plant workers. Americans work in sewage sanitation plants, pick up dead animals on the road, assist in veterinary clinics, roofers, road crews,construction, landscaping, lawncare, you NAME it, Americans DO IT!
The hiring of WILLING American workers by those companies blows that mantra to smithereens.

Illegal aliens are not doing work Americans won't do. What jobs won't Americans do? In most states, Americans still clean their own houses, do their own landscaping, clean hotel rooms, work in restaurants and fast food places, paint houses, do CONSTRUCTION WORK, work in airports, etc. - just like we have the past 200 years before "our" government allowed these people to invade our country. There are 18 million Americans who cannot find a job, so illegal aliens who are coming here to work do so at peril to American workers.
There aren't any jobs Americans havent done,cant or wont do for a livable wage.
They mean it in the sense that illegals will do jobs that pay less then minimum wage. So it is not really a worker's choice
that argument assumes illegals are in the country already, which is true.
I love that somebody is finally talking about this. It is the same platitude ignorance that causes people to associate the taking of a child's life with a "woman's right to choose", that cause people to think that there are no Americans who will do the jobs of illegal aliens, as if we're all clinical physiologists, or C.E.O'S.
they just save the employer a lot of money becuase, he doesn't have to give benifits, he doesn't have to pay a fair wage, and he can work one person like 100 hrs a week becuase they are not on paper, it's all about money
I bet the living wage is better where you are than here in ca where we have a huge % of people living in poverty. Our schools have gone from some of the best to near the bottom of the barrel since the last amnesty bill passed. Yep it is past time for action.
They are paid less by rich corporation that loves to keep them here & lobby to get them amnesty, but they take more from us tax payers when they use our Hospitals, Public schools, well fare money & food stamps which is a drainage since they like to have so many kids & multiple like rabbits.

Look you might as well get use to the fact 12 to 20 million Hispanic people are going to join your ranks as citizens in the next six to twelve months. This group of "leaders" is going to want this done well before the 2008 election so they can get them registered to vote and make the rest of the public forget about how they got screwed over.
You hit the nail on the head with the word "willing". .Some AMERICAN'S think they should be paid top dollar for any job, but in the meantime, they have no education to warrant the big bucks. MOST manual labor jobs are held by high school dropouts without even a diploma. YET they think they deserve better than someone who trained for years to get a better position. They CAN work up to a better position and better pay because experience is the BEST teacher, but they don't want to start at the bottom and earn it. Might be too much like work. It has something to do with PRIDE too. NOT ALL, I said MOST. ...and granted, there are some college people out here struggling too. The job market ain't what it used to be in some areas.
I think what some of it amounts to is that illegals are willing to take any job and any pay to get freedom from their country and even to GET a job here when none exist there. They are trying to better themselves. It's a shame some American's don't want to better themselves or the illegals wouldn't have a job to take.
your right. in the town i live in white and black americans are doing jobs the illegals say we wont do. and we're doing them at 5.50 an hour. they are just trying to play head games. the illegals are starting to make this place look like the slums.
It's all about money plain and simple. These a$$h0L3s would much rather pay an illegal less and the h3ll with the American worker. They can get somebody cheap and abuse them where an American wouldn't put up with it. I think we should string them up myself for turning their backs on their fellow Americans.

They ran me out of the drywall business in the late 70s.Two men teams would work a house at 51/2 cents a foot .That was a decent wage if you hustled.They would come in in 15 man teams for the same 51/2 cents a foot split 15 ways instead of two.8 would start on a house the others would start on a couple more and before you knew it all the houses were taken as the others would catch up as they finished.Instad of two guys making around $500 a week 15 guys would split it and their "Boss" would take a huge cut.Americans will take those jobs if they only could.I'm a Republican and I blame them just as much as the Democrats.
Yes I have always dreamed of cleaning other people's toilet and picking fruit without any safety equipment. I always told my dad I wanted to earn 2 cents an hour too.
well i think you put it accurately when you commented that the legal immigrants got raises to boot. illegal immigration is a nasty fight between desperation and exploitation. illegals will work for WAY LESS than minimum wage. and that's only possible when supported by the company that exploits them! if companies refused to hire illegal immigrants, then they would STOP coming. they won't come if there is no work to offer. blame the greedy companies that hire these people.

Cheap Labor?
Is there really such a thing? Look at the true cost off cheap illegal labor and you'll see that it's only cheap for the wealthy. In America all the way up into the 70's all of the service jobs and lower paying, unskilled jobs were done by Americans. So you look at what we have now with cheap mexican labor from the south moving north through the country, all the jobs they are doing at a fraction of the cost that Americans formerly worked for. Who does this cheap labor benefit? certainly not the lower and working classes. It benefits the upper classes, the corporations and all business owners looking to make more money. This is not sustainable in the long run. The cost is tremendous in terms of public funds going to support illegals and low income Americans. I just want to know if anyone else out there can see what this is doing.
