Fine in theory, but there are a couple of flaws with your idea...
First of all, not all illegal aliens are from Mexico - they come from lots of other places, too. Secondly, it seems to be that our government is trying very hard to be buddy buddy with Mexico - demanding oil would never happen.

One barrel of oil is not NEARLY as expensive as one illegal alien.
My father was talking about this the other day. He said if there is oil in Texas there has got to be oil in Mexico. Americans usually have some type of hidden agenda. I'm sure there is has got to be something in it for us. Just like when we went to war in the middle east the first thing they did was secure those oil fields over there.
I don't know why they just don't start making that gas from corn. We could just throw some pure grain in the tank and tell everyone to stick their oil fields up their ***.
The only problem with this plan is that you are asking a government to pay for the errors of individuals. Once that precedent has been set: here's all my bills can you guys cover them for me??
I agree with Whizzera 2 there is no cost comparison. The illegals standard of living has become very very comfortable compared to when they were in their native country and Americans standard of comfort has become insecure for alot of us. Illegals do not want a livable wage, our gov. is willing to keep them happy, healthy with tax payers money. As far as being addicted to oil, why didn't big brother do something about our addiction[ I call it need to survive] and build mass transit all over the country, for all the money our gov has spent on stupidness we could be independent from foreign oil. Shute we should be going back and forth to work by a whole new technological way.and then other country's would have to bathe in their oil because we wouldn't need it, on the contrary they would pay billions for our technology. Someone may come in with brilliant minds and release us from their hold, lets hope its soon, high gas prices, illegals, global warming, 3rd world diseases in America on the rise, not to mention personal problems, it's a bit much lately. love the idea ! but you do realize that Mexico would run out of oil rather quickly if this was done, due to the high number of illegals we have now. The ones in California alone would put a big dent in Mexico's oil. Once they ran out of oil they would really have nothing so we would probably see a bigger flood of illegals coming across the border. But hey at least we will have gotten something back from that country.
