What do you think about ex-illegals that are becoming legal?

Answer:
I think they are just fine, they've proven themselves to the US government and are trying to make a better life for themselves.
I feel happy for them.
I think the term "illegal immigrant" is a load of sh*t anyway - we all live on the same damn planet. Borders and countries only serve to segregate us all.
what's wrong with becoming legal? seems to me that's the whole point; now if they just get it handed to them, without having to go through the same process as everyone else then no, i don't agree with that.
That is the plan for them, to become citizens. Not to mention the fact that 'Tom A' has a really great answer. Besides, isn't ex-illegal a double negative, thus making a positive, ergo a legal citizen?
Too little, too late. Once they break the law to enter illegally (or break the law by overstaying their visa) they should NEVER be allowed another visa or citizenship. The reason...they have already shown a lack of respect for our laws, that is not the kind of person we need in our country. Mendi, you just don't get it. It's like they say marijuana is a gateway drug that leads people to use other drugs. That's not true, there is just a certain kind of person who is willing to try drugs and it usually starts with marijuana; just like there are people who are willing to break the law, usually starts small and gets bigger. I don't want ANYONE coming into this country predisposed to breaking our laws. Once a criminal, always a criminal.
I don't care as long as they come here to work and can speak our language. It's our national language and makes me mad when they come here and expect us to learn their language. I'm not racist at all, but they would expect us to learn their language if we went to their country, so why do they expect us to learn their language? We shouldn't have to learn their language when English is our national language. Wanting a better life for themselves is fine, I don't mind them living here at all if they have a job and can speak our language considering it is our country's language and they are immigrating.
Name one. I'd need some proof to beleive that when LEGAL immigrants are still waiting.
They suck, they should have just waited in line in the first place.
Well I feel this way,I hope they dont take it for a free ride,I hope they realise what a blessing it is to be an American,They will never understand what Americans did to make this a free country so they can be here .I hope I dont have to pay for there ignorance, and I hope my kids dont have to.Americans only have so much .We already forget about our own veterans to take care of illegals,we have been tought to be politically correct and not racist to the point it may kill America. And everything our forfathers fought for.Americas economics are running out,We are a country that fought for Freedoms that are being takin away. But I dont think Americans will surrendor to A Mexican governemnt.
It depends on the individual circumstance. Can't say I approve of how they did it, but becoming legal (under current laws) is the best way to make amends, as far as I am concerned, that or going back.
