The Minute Men don't issue weapons to anyone.In Arizona it is legal to own and carry a weapon on your person or in your vehicle as long as it is not concealed.
The MM do not encourage anyone to carry a weapon. That is up to the individual. They do want members like myself and my husband that have concealed weapons permit. And are experienced in using a weapon for self defense protection.(extensive classes are required in order to obtain the concealed permit)
I don't know of any "true" Minute Men that has even had to draw a weapon on the AZ border.
There are some fake pretend people that claim to be MM but in reality they are nothing more than "crazies"
The Real Minute Men do not seek contact either verbal or physical with any illegal alien.They only report their location by cell phone to the Border Patrol.
And Fire Boy you are too cute and sweet to have a weapon,you might get hurt and there goes that new car you want .Wasted new drivers license .:(
The minutmen are unarmed. If you want a gun, get a job and buy one. Its your right, exercise it.

I don't think you need a gun to become a Minuteman, I think basically what's required is a fair understanding of what's going on, and the willingness to volunteer your time.
Illegal immigration's a big problem, and stopping it isn't going to require guns, instead it means you need to learn to use your head and be willing to read and listen to others about their concerns and the problems they're facing because of, well, frankly, bad border policy that's been tolerated and let go for about 20 years or more.

they don't receive a gun when they join. the ones that have a license to carry one and own one are free to bring it with them. The others I suppose don't.
