What generation american are you?
Answer:
My family has been here since 1670, so I don't know, but I'm on up there in the generations.
My grandparents, parents, aunts/uncles all came from Finland. I was the first to be born here.
3rd
Depends, 3rd on my mom's side and like 10th on my dad's
i dunno cuz i was born in puerto rico n i dunno if that counts as being born in america
Old geezer, 3rd generation.
My family came here when you had to learn English and no body gave you anything but trouble if you didn't play by the rules and do the proper deed.
That was back when America was more or less in it's Hay day.
Not like now.
1st and 7th
Zero, I am an immigrant. My kids may not be the first either as I may give birth at home in England.
stone age
You can find my family name on the original Constitution.LANGDON....thanks to Uncle John. So you do the math I don't know,,,,, well over 200 years.
I am third generation.
My grandparents came here when there were no hand outs given to them just for being in country as is seen way too often today.
I am Mexican Indian of some type but mostly Azteca.I have read where the Indians go back to 6000 years ago.
I'm zero, but hope to be a first-generation American in a few months.
I have no idea....way back there...quit counting at 6...
Quite a long(long) time. Thats all i'll say. Exact(Gen X)
My fathers father came from Italy around 1920. On my mothers side, my first ancestor came around the time of the revolutionary war.
Since I am US native American indian, I can't count the generations.
My ancestors were already here when everyone else arrived. And that includes all the hispanic/latinos who came here from europe and all the mexicano indigenous who came from south of the Rio Grande after the hispanics came and stole our lands in the southwest USA.
Oh and to the guy who says he is "azteca". That would make you indiginous to the Mexico which is SOUTH of the current border. There is no azteca tribal homeland north of it.
There has never been any tribe whose homeland is north of the current border called "mexicano", or mexican, or mexica, or meztiso, or hispanic,or latino, or aztec, or mayan, or toltec, or chicano, or cholo, or vato, or essa, or homie.
fifth and kids are sixth. going back to the mid 1800's this time. we had an ancestor who came with christopher columbus. the capt of the santa maria but on one side, we are natives.... so, god know how long... only native americans bloodlines can say that!
No generation, I was born in Mexico and my parents came into the U.S when i was 1 or 2 yrs old (and yes it was illegally). We all became U.S citizens through the amnesty that was given in the 80's. My parents have worked every day of their lives and I have paid my way through college not once asking for welfare or handouts. Which is more than i could say for some natural born citizens.
At least 3rd im not really that concerned with how long my family has been in america.
My grandfather's great grandfather came to America after serving in the British navy around 1780. So I guess that would make me 5th generation.
21st.
12th generation american 8th generation TEXAN
i would say probably since the 1600's my family has been here once as slaves. Ive been tracing my family tree and ive gotten to as far as early 1800 and have found people that were slaves. its pretty cool to trace your family tree.
Like Shoshone above, my people have been here on this continent as long as the grass has grown and the rivers have flowed, we were here when the Rockie mountains were just prairie dog mounds.
Sho-Ban tribal member. First nations! Baby!!
I am at least 8th generation.
