First of all, white Americans do not care whether they are hated or not. Secondly, your question compares apples and oranges. If you are talking about illegal immigrants around the world, they are certainly hated more than white Americans. Most countries that have a relative amount of wealth have their share of poor immigrants coming into the country to take unskilled jobs and bringing their poverty habits with them. This causes conflict and "hate" in every one of these countries. I am sure the people feel more hate towards the people who are ruining their country then some distant symbol of the "white American". Because, like it or not, the reality is that in most of the world, the "white American" does not have a direct effect on the lives of the general population. The "white American" is a symbol, easy target, something to blame for all poverty. The term "white American" is a gross generalization and cannot encompass an individual, a group, a race, a culture or even a government. It is a meaningless term equivalent to bogeyman.
It's a deflection of the blame for the problem. They say, "Look! He is worse than me!" "Because I am an illegal that breaks Federal law, the whit person must want me out because of the color of my skin." It's playing the race card.
