That wont work. If the homeless people are white, they wont want the jobs the illegals are currently doing.
Because a lot of them are mentally ill, have substance abuse problems, or don't want to work!! I doubt they are as reliable as the illegals. I'm not saying it's okay for them to come here illegally, I'm just answering the question.
That might work if the homeless person isn't having mental issues. A lot of them do. We need to stop illegal immigration, it's going to ruin this country.
Sounds like a good plan . Unfortunately , many of the homeless are mentally ill and in desperate need of hospitalization , and care .

many of the jobs that the illegal aliens are doing, Americans wont do. (Sounds mean, but isn't meant to be). The other HUGE part is that the people employing the illegals don't have to pay insurance, unemployment and taxes on them because they illegal. They also pay them wages that many Americans wont work for.
Good luck! LOL... I can barely get a homeless person to do a decent job cleaning a vehicles front windshield... Good luck trying to get the same homeless person to do back breaking labor that starts at 5-7am and could go on from 8-13 hours at times.
hahaha i agree. I am so for no more immagration. we are over populated as it is we dont need anymore people eating up welfare and taking jobs that belong to the US people.

It'd be great to get the homeless to work, but I don't believe most of them are willing to work the backbreaking hours.

Red Panda is right about the homeless mostly being mentally ill or subtance abusers. However, you have a workable idea. It would just take many special considerations of their disabilities. I think working is great for everyone.

the answer is enforce the immigration laws we have, put employers in jail and revoke tax exemptions from churches offering sanctuary...

some of the homeless are doing the jobs of the illegals, that's why they are homeless, the pay sucks. The difference in the homeless and immigrants, is that the immigrants rent shacks with 30+ people living there. They work 2-3 jobs, save their money and send it back home.
I get what you're saying but most homeless people are mentally unstable, alcoholics, drug abusers, etc. There are a few out there though that are sane, clean from drugs that are just down on their luck. The ones that are really just down on their luck, don't stay homeless forever, so when you really think about it, are the remaining homeless population mentally and physically qualified to work? America need to enforce the immigration law regardless, I have no problems with anyone that wants to come to America to live and to work legally.

Street people do not want to work, the same white Americans say what are we going to do to help them . Not that I realy believe they care for the street people.
My answer is yes. The problem with the government is they have no common sense. There are common sense solutions to 99% of our problems, but if they don't cost billions of dollars and do not benefit one of their family members or cronies, they don't want it.
We have homeless people who need to be given a chance to get back on their feet, non-violent prisoners who have nothing better to do than rot in their cells, people ordered to do community service, high school children who need to volunteer so many hours to graduate, senior citizens who would like to make a difference, etc. Take them to the places where we need workers. The people with disabilities may not be able to do hard labor, but they can be part of the job by helping to prepare and serve the meals, drinks, etc.
We need to tell the government our solutions.

How about if we use the unemployed Americans who lost their jobs to illegals? Like the construction workers who were let go because they couldn't speak spanish for example.
A lot of the homeless are mentally ill. A lot are veterans. Not all the homeless are lazy people. A lot work. They just have minimum wage jobs. Most have alcohol or drug problems. No, your idea stinks. You are lumping them all together, like they are not individuals. Everybody's back ground is different, so your big plan, is silly.

What you're saying is that if we force the homeless to work in jobs where the working conditions are so bad that no red blooded American would do the work at any wage,what you end up with is slavey ! What about the 'homeless' that is caused by disasters or jobs going out of this country? Are people criminals and insane just because they're without a home to live in? Or does being homeless contribute to mental illness? Have you ever been homeless or known a homeless person ? I don't think so! The back door of America has been wide open during the whole Bush admin. and you're just now getting pissed off?!? Pay Americans a living wage and make companies and corporations lose their right to do business if they break our immigration laws by hiring illegals. Once the word gets out that there is no more work up here for them, they will be leaving pronto !
Sadly, the vast majority of homeless people have mental illnesses and cannot work.They are homeless for a reason, they can't function in a society. Many are also drug addicted, how long could they hold a job? I have a gardner and he is an American.I work in an industry that hires MANY illegals, that is contractors, who hire them.I personally hire American's. And still, many of my clients want to hire illegals, because they charge so much less.Sorry, we need to start changing our attitude about what is more important in our country, the almighty buck or the rule of law.

I agree with some of the comments made above, they do have illnesses. However, it's laziness that contributes to this factor. If they really wanted to work, they would. Look at the illegal immigrants they work with FAKE social security numbers, they risk getting caught. The homeless rely on welfare and they COULD work, but they decide not to. Illegal immigrants are constantly looked down upon, they are hard working people.
Homeless are the unenployed american white trash, they dont work because their addiction to drugs got out of control.
Just find out, why they are homeles in the first place.you wont be surprised.and they will not carry out the same underpaid jobs either.
