K1 visa process delay?
Answer:
Not sure where you are looking, but California is currently processing applications from September 2006, and Maine is processing applications from March 2006. Last I talked to USCIS, they told me to expect a minimum of 5 months for processing a fiancee' visa, assuming they can successfully investigate (and believe) everything on your bio sheets with no problems.
You can contact USCIS directly to inquire.
Attorneys and Senators will not help in the least bit in moving your application ahead quicker.
If a case is pending 30 days beyond processing time, lawyer can help by making inquiry through their organization and Ombudsman.
So, try to contact the Immigration directly if your case is pending beyond 30 days first directly.
If you don't want to wait or spend more time or deal with uncertainly, then hire a lawyer. Senator's office also has immigration liaison. I am not sure if they will get involved in this kind of little delay matter.
