Is it illegal for international students to work full time if they are on leave of absence from Uni?
From what I have heard, international students can work full-time in Uni vacation periods. If someone goes on leave of absence from a Uni, is he entitled to work full-time as well?
Some info and advice would be highly appreciated.
Answer:
yes it is
dunno
depends on your country and type of visa. Read up on your visa type, it will stipulate all your rights.
dont think so
No i dnt think so...You are entitled to work full time only in vacation times...Not During University even if you take sick leave or whatever...The home office will defn know....
you need to make sure that you have a workpermit . The UNI can help you with this one!
Best to ask this of the Immigrations office before risking your education visa....
it dpends on the country he is study in.
but taking leave for jobs, it's not good even if he's local students.
i don't think so. i think u can show that u are one of the students in that uni. don't take my word for it. i am not sure.
you can only work full-time during holiday periods and then also only for 4 months of the year. I dont' know about leave of absence but keep in mind that they deported someone I know of because he worked too many hours so be carefull.Check out the website below, it may be helpfull
During vacation time a full time foreign student WHO IS PRESENT ON STUDENT CONDITIONS - NOT VISITOR CONDITIONS - can work full time. A student who STARTS COLLEGE but drops out can still work 20hrs per week even if they are not studying (as confirmed in the ZHOU judgement). They CANNOT lawfully work full time - they will be working in breach. Any student who NEVER starts school can work 20hrs per week but will be liable for action as an illegal entrant (by verbal deception or leave to remain by deception) if caught. A student who is on VISITOR conditions can do NO WORK at all - paid or unpaid.
Ignore all previous advice. I do know what I'm talking about.
If MELTHIAG is referring to UK based students (from outside the EU ) then s/he is talking rubbish.
Which cheeky so and so gave me a thumbs down?!!! This is my JOB. I was present when ZHOU was arrested.
Two days later - and my answer is still the correct one.
international student can work full time in campus legally, without problem but not outside the campus, if you want to work full time outside the campus you will need to see an international advicer that will ask you to fill a form and then he will send it to the immigration and only the immigration approval will sent you a work permit that will allow you to work full time outside the campus. But do not forget never be abscent in the courses. with a work permit is legal but if you work without a work permit is illigal the only thing that can help you not to have problem is if you don't miss classes.
yes if you come from the african continent
I dont really know the requirement. But I understand many students work in Tesco, Asda, takeaway. So long as your employer does not report you, there will be no problem. If you are serious, you can check with your Univ and have an answer. The Immigration is busy on tackling terrorist? Nobdoy have time to check your poor students?
No! Check your visa!
No. If they are only on a student visa they still need a work permit from the home office
If you have dropped out of Uni - even if it is leave of absence you have to return to your country. You see the clue is in the 'student' bit - you have to actually be a student to be here on a student visa! If you are not a student - then your visa is void.
