She was rude to tell you to stop. I would have thought it an insult to my intelligence if it were me. You are an adult and I'm certain you know the dangers of smoking, you don't need some store clerk to point out the obvious. I would by my cigarette at a different store.
Tell the big b**** to mind her own.
I would have found it offensive and called the manager and the ACLU.
You know how the ACLU is always there when someone gets offended.

Maybe eatmore is right....maybe she was just being nice. I am just mean sometimes!!
It's not her job to tell you to quit, she's just showing she cares more than to see people commit slow suicide at their own expense. If you can't see the compassion she was trying to show you, then you deserve whatever consequences you get from smoking tobacco.

she only said that to try to get you to save your own life. i smoke, and i say anyone who smokes should stop smoking. i need to. you'll wish you listened when you start coughing and spitting up your lungs. i plan on quiting real soon, like in the next 2 weeks. good luck.
The woman was just being nice. She offered you some good advice. It's a pity all people who sell cigarettes weren't trained to do this. :-)
