hi, I got married by january of this year, my husband and me met by internet and he went to my country and got engaged by september of the last year, we got a fiancee visa in Peru, and came to england to get married, yes my husband is british, also we got a Baby in the way, we live togueter , and well now we have to fill a form FLR M, and we want to do it well and we need some advice we don't want to get refuse now because of our baby now, my husband gets some public funds, and I read that that may be a problem for get the extension of our visa? is it????????, thanks. aaaaa

Hello,
I am from the USA and my husband is British. We have been married just over two years now and we had LOTS of troubles and I had to travel back and forth from the US several times to get our papers worked out properly. We had a child already and I had to leave them both- go to the states and get paper work sorted.

I had to fill out several pages of details and pay $500 for the Visa. They wanted to know about the house we lived in and where my husband worked and how much money he made.

I dont want to scare you- but one of the stipulations of the Settlement Visa is that your spouse can support you totally without recourse to public funds. And if he is on public funds and not working- I am not sure your Visa will be granted.

We had to prove beyond a shadow of a doubt that my husband could support us- even though I was capable of working!

It worked out for us in the end and we are about to apply for my indefinite leave stamp in another month or two. I hope it all works out for you too. Good luck in 2007! Please email me if you think I can help with info. :)
