For me it took near two years, for a long time after 9-11 they didn't process a single I485, lucky for you it has changed now. I was notified by my immigration lawyer about two weeks after my processing date came current. It took more than six months after that before my green card came through.
Currently in California they are processing September 14th 2006 applications.
