What would be the different aspects that a comprehensive immigration reform would entail?
Answer:
1. Its going to be nearly impossible to actually rid ourselves of every single illegal immigrant here. There is no way to track them. We have to try and get THEM to WANT to leave. Stop allowing them in public schools, and healthcare (unless they are like dying, we shouldn't be cruel).
2. Close our borders. Actually get the national government to care about this.
3. Get volunteers to find them and deport them.
It would probably take many years, and even then it wouldn't be perfect. We still get thousands of illegal immigrants from smugglers and such. But it can drastically cut the numbers.
Our government and Mexico's government should work together in stopping it.
1st step: Mandatory prison time for everyone that hires an illegal alien.
This could be done. Illegals could be removed over a period of time with some rather simple changes.
Who knows if these changes will be made?
Reform would be mandated on simply keeping the immigrants who wish to come into this country to a limited number.
That's unlikely. Too much of a good thing is not a good thing.
If we remove illegals we will still face the demon of too many immigrants on a legal basis. This is the one criterion of change that will make a difference.
In the meantime, we are being killed off by the illegal immigrants who come here in hordes and are slowly killing us off by slow repression, denigration and deterioration of our society and culture.
Death by knife or gun.
Which do you choose?
I'm having trouble finding a way to be able to consider any form of amnesty when we have citizens in jail for doing the same things. With so many having tons of alternate identies and still no actual real border enforcement......it seems useless to me.
We have to have the supreme court make a decision concerning this "anchor baby" thing. There obviously has to be more people hired for every position having to do with immigration. From processing to follow-ups on visas to immigration courts, officers, on down the line.
There simply can't be a blanket amnesty since I'm positive we haven't scratched the surface of the multitude of crimes committed. If they aren't being punished in any way and there is no reliable method of knowing for sure.......it's just not right that citizens have their mistakes follow them for the rest for their lives while these guys get a clean slate and have done worse.
I already know the unemployment figure is wrong. It's only people who are getting unemployment that are counted. There are tons more out there looking and I'm not sold we NEED them here at all. I'll give you agriculture and a temporary status.......but I'm not sold on the rest and that's where there has to be crackdown on employers.
The issue of sending money back to Mexico instead of paying medical bills and such needs to be addressed.
Many of these people are making a great deal of money by illegal means and then getting welfare payments. Whether it be from dog fights, ****-fights, drugs, to basicly running their own un-known business. (like yard work etc. and a regular client base without being a business and paying taxes on the income. Or day-care without the proper screening etc.) It's like they have a whole sub culture with a different set of rules than everybody else.
They keep getting the ACLU and all these people saying laws we have are unconstitutional or whatever......then by God I want to know. I don't have the money to fight it all in court and many of us don't have a big financially backed group to run to our aid with free services.
There are just so many things that need to be addressed before there's anything we can work with for reform.
