Is it possible than a quater of all Californians are undocumented & if so how likely is to deport them ???
also which would be wiser to try to make them pay the taxes which they will have to pay once they are legalized or to not allow them to stay and lose all that money ???
Answer:
The estimate for illegal immigrants moving into California was around 100,000 in the year 1993 but the total number of undocumented people residing in California is much higher. Twenty-five percent seems like a reasonable estimate but I wouldn't be surprised if this was on the low end. Therefore, given this large number, the likelihood of deporting all of them is incredibly low. The fact of the matter is that such a large deportation as that would ultimately cost the taxpayers of California (and the rest of the nation) millions if not billions. That isn't including the severe impact the loss of labor would have on our economy. A much better solution would be to let them stay at their own risk but if they are caught deport them immediately. Our secondary course of action should be to crack down on border security to prevent the transport of illegal and dangerous people/weapons into the US.
Depends, are they picking grapes?
First of all, they don't pay taxes, they are a drain on the emergency hospital systems costing the taxpayers billions per year. They are not as essential as you think they are. When they had that one day walk out last year in California, the only places that closed were the mom and pop Latino stores in the barrio. the traffic was much lighter on ALL the freeways and in all my travels, didn't hear but a couple of negative comments about it.
I ate lunch at Coco's, didn't have a long wait, was served faster than usual. I don't know about deporting them all, but something needs to be done to:
1. collect taxes from them and slow the flow of dollars they send to Old Mexico.
2. Find out who is here and have good records of immigration.
3. Those with criminal backgrounds for violent crimes, ship them back across the border.
The rest that are here, fine them, and put them on the road to citizenship. give them one year and if they are not Naturalized, ship them to Mexico.
No I dont believe the number is that high.
Even if they did pay taxes the amount of money they cost would be more.
I think its a waste of resources to try and track down illegals. Deport the ones who are arrested of course. But I wouldnt bother trying to track down the rest.
Instead eliminate the 'anchor baby' problem with either clarification or amendment.
Heavily fine and suspend licenses of those businesses caught employing illegals. revoke license if appropriate.
No health care beyond emergency care should be given to an illegal.
No free education benefits to illegals.
No welfare of any kind to illegals.
Attrition. If you take away the incentive to come to the USA illegaly, then they will quit doing it. They will either come legally or not at all.
Except for the criminals such as drug dealers of course and those can be dealt with.
They are not essential to the economy.
They should go to prison for A) being here illegally and B) for tax evasion.
2 wrongs don't make a right. Never have, never will.
then we would have to let in the people who are waiting ,which by the way we are getting sued over. then the next batch of illegals will cry the same thing we are hearing now we have given 7 previous amnesties and here we are again and if we don't put our foot down we will hear it again . meanwhile we get to hear how crappy we are and we stole land blah blah blah then prices will still go up because they will get more money because they are legal and mexico will still be corrupt and more people will still want out and its just putting a band-aid on a festering sore ! nope we must stop this.
They are too poor to pay enough tax to cover $10,000 per year per child in education much less for the other services they take that are meant for our own people. Cost is NOT on your side.

First - I oppose illegal immigration.
That being said - it is a MYTH that illegals don't pay taxes.
They gain employment using phony SS numbers and DO have taxes withheld like everybody else. The difference is - they don't file returns, so the government keeps the taxes that were withheld because there are no tax refunds on that money.
Like I said - I'm opposed to illegal immigration - but let's all stick to the facts in voicing that opposition.
The majority of them are on welfare, getting help from the state government and now they are going to get free health care, the governor already sign the Bill. The problem is not if they pay taxes or not, the question is, are they here legal or illegally, do they deserve to be in the USA or not. All the government have to do is to implement the immigration laws already in the books and the illegal aliens will go back home voluntary. If the government don't take action, you will see California again with a deficit that will turn into bankrupt in the future, is that what the Californians want. God help the state of California.
Why? I detect a hint of arrogance here, but I think the wiser thing to do is to do away with the red tape that the system that WOULD allow them to become legal immigrants is full of so they wouldn't have to come here illegally. Either that or give them amnesty.
Essensial to the ecomony? Are you kidding me?
They don's pay in and they drain all of the programs!
They are bankrupting the medical establishment and making it very difficult for CITIZENS to get the services I pay taxes for!
Go to the welfare department some time and tell me they are contributing. 95% of the people there are illegals. You won't see many white faces, or black ones either for that matter.
There kids are in our schools, which are struggling because so few of the citizens are tax paying ones.
It would cost us a chuck to deport them all, but it would be just that, a chunk payment. The money we would save makes up for it real quick. Also, all of our liberal social programs would stand a chance, AND help those whom it is intended to help./
How can they be essential when you say they pay not taxes already they cheated America by not paying taxes expecting free medical care, expecting America to change it's language to Spanish. What more do you want ? They cannot even arrest an illegal these days. Where else in this world can anybody walk around being arrest free ?
Deportation would be the legal measure,I would start with the Governor
It would cost a lot to deport them all. Immigrants legal or illegal pay taxes and sorry but a bunch of airheads are answering your questions.
It is an unrealistic situation. California more than other states relies on them, their working, their taxes, their purchasing power! Im not sure I agree that it is a 1/4 of all Cali, but If they tried to do a massive deportation I feel for all the legal immigrants and citizens that happen to be hispanic, and what this means to them. What will the govt do to their rights if ICE is breaking into peoples homes? Will their be massive law suits? You better believe it!
I agree with you that it is next to impossible. The government will not deport 20,000,000 people. If they had wanted to deport undocumented workers they would have done it years ago which would have deterred so many people from coming. The government needs and wants these people here.
