What are my Maternity Leave rights in the UK if I have a student working visa??

I don't hold a UK passport but have been working for my employer full-time for 18months. Just recently I began working part-time on a student working visa.

Do you know what my maternity leave rights are??

Many thanks!!

Answer:
Hope you pay for all the care you'll get from our wonderful health service, I trust you have health insurance. As for getting pregnant whilst studying, well that was a bit silly wasn't it, did you do it for a council house and the benefit system? Think your parents would really like you to come home so they can be part of their grandchild's life in your own country.Happy travelling.
I don't know, my dear, but I would like to say, in the politest possible way, you were pretty silly getting pregnant when you came here to study. But having gotten yourself pregnant, you should now go home and have your baby in your own country, where your parents are!
Do be mindful that a non EU national on a UK student visa can only do a MAXIMUM of 20 hours work during term else they'll be liable to action for WORKING IN BREACH.
Concerning maternity rights - I suggest you look up maternity rights/legislation info on the internet.
None I hope we have enough parisites off our own.
The same as for a full-time worker. Unless...

Are you saying you are only able to work by virtue of the fact you are in the UK on a student visa? In that case, you may not have the right to maternity pay. Will you continue to attend courses on the same schedule during your pregnancy and afterwards? Are you planning on having the baby in the UK?
See www.tiger.gov.uk for an explanation of maternity leave rights. My understanding is that as long as your visa is unexpired, you would receive the same maternity leave benefits in accordance with other workers.

Good luck with the new baby!
I am pleased that you have come to our wonderful country to study. We have one of the best state benefit systems in the world how lovely of you to choose to come here and have the joyful event that you speak of. When is your dear little baby due? When I say dear I really do mean dear because it certainly will be for the taxpayers of the UK.
My daughter studied for seven years at University and it was expensive and difficult for her and us as her family because we did not qualify for any grants or help at all. She is now an employment lawyer and could tell you all of your rights. She has been married for nearly six years now and hopefully her and her lovely working husband will one day soon be able to afford to start the much longed for family that they have wanted since they got married.
They have both done the sensible and correct thing and waited until they are in a position to give a child a good start in life.
Sadly my daugher's husband's mother died on October 23rd last year and so will never see her longed for grandchild but she supported their decision in every way.
I do hope that you find the assistance you require to claim your benefits.
It is amazing - my husband and I have struggled to buy a home - (which has negative equity due to criminal gangs coming from overseas and operating from the area) and we cannot even consider having a baby as we can't afford one - that could be why you can afford to get pregnant whilst you are a student visitor in the UK ?? Have you been paying your taxes and NI stamp??
I am sorry but it sounds as if you were borderline working here illegally anyway I would cut your losses and go home
I have no idea hun but good luck anyway.

As for all the other responses u got........may u all come get the Mexican & other illegally beings here so they will quit draining our system dry!!! Maybe then we will have better health care & more jobs.
