Is it the State or Feds who must stop illegal immigration?
Answer:
Well the former INS is now a part of the Dpt of Homeland Security which is a federal organization. Border Patrol is federal.
So I would say its mostly a federal issue but states do play a role.
The laws are handed down by the Feds, but it is up to the State to enforce it.
The Federal government is making no effort to stop illegal immigration so perhaps it is time for the states to step up.
The employers need to take on some responsibility regardless of a law
Both.
If the State government does not make (EDIT: and enforce) effective laws regarding the hiring of illegal immigrants, then no amount of Federal border policing will stop illegal immigrants from rooting in the US.
Well, the feds are supposed to do it. The Imigra, is the one who have always deported illegals. But now they are over run with too many illegals. So it is up to states to enforce immigration laws, but no one is doing a vey good job due to over population of illegals. And yet illegals tend to complain that they have no rights, so I say go back to your own country and see what rights you have there.
Both should be doing their part to stop it but the State troopers are griping that they already have too much to do and can“t arrest illegal aliens.
I agree with your first answer. The laws are already in place, it's just up to the feds to tell the states to act on it. But this is also a federal problem, so the feds should be actively involved in this....so they should have just as much resources on the borders, as they do here in Iraq.
It's a Federal law, which the Fed. govt. is failing to enforce. States have the right to enforce it on their own. Like GEORGIA.
I think the laws are mostly Federal but the States should have a right to make their own and to enforce all the immigration laws.
Neither. It's the people. By continuing to talk it up with other citizens at every opportunity, we the people may cause a wave of public opinion that the politicians cannot ignore.
They have flip-flopped on this issue for entirely too long. We must be protected from foreign invasions no matter what form they may take. National Security is not only a military issue - it's also an economic one.
Our politicians must be held accountable for protecting our jobs and our children's future jobs. We, the citizens, must demand this........And the pols who are not responsive should be voted out in the next election.
Both, unpurposedly,Why, is ther any Bigger Deals to recociliates or eventualy Retaliations,unexpectedly,Msrs... ?
