I am a UK citizen and have a foriegn father. With proof of paternity provided does he have any legal basis or right to visit or come to live in the UK, (He is Iraqi and living in hell). Also his children (my half brothers / sisters) can it help them in anyway once paternity is established/proven. At present his name is not on my birth certificate. Any advice is appreciated.
Answer:
I am not 100% sure but, I don't think it matters that you are a UK cititzen and he is your father. It doesn't give him any rights in the UK.
The only thing it does I could imagine is give YOU rights in Iraq.
My daughters have a dual American/Austrian citizenship since I am American and my husband is Austrian.
The dual citizenship of my daughters does NOT help my Austrian husband get into America though. Which is why we live in Austria. Laws are much more lenient.
So, in short..I would say no. I'm afraid he would have to go through the normal processes to be granted citizenship in the UK.
Why did he abandon the family
