Why has every other ethnic group of immigrants been regulated?
Answer:
I am anti-illegal immigration and pro- legal immigration. It is my belief that the the main reason we were a successful "melting pot" of races, relegions and cultures is because we did regulate the number. Assimilation isn't just a one way street. It took people time to adjust to new people comming here and it was an adjustment for them comming here. There were efforts made on both part. From what I am seeing now with mass illegal immigration is a perfect example as to why. Controlled immigration keeps it where new immigrants can't "take over" and shove their language, culture or relegious practices down everyones throat. In order for it to work it takes a fine balance and too many at one time and especially with too many at one time who refuse to assimilate....knocks the whole healthy working balance out of kilter.
Legal immigration controls that. Open borders doesn't.
It's not that anyone is sitting around "letting" this happen. Atleast as far as citizens goes. The government isn't enforcing our laws to stop this from happening. For what reason....I don't know. There HAS to be another agenda because we no not NEED all these people nor do they offer anything people in this country aren't wanting to do. Mexicans have been comming here and lived here for centuries. Being Mexican isn't the issue. Trust me...Tacos and latin music isn't something unfamiliar to Americans or something brand new in the last few years. It's this attitude of unwillingness to become a part of something and more a "we're replacing you". In our drive to be accommodating it has crossed the line. I mean Mexicans have survived here for centuries without shoving Spanish down our throats. Obviously they have made their way all across this nation and somewhere, somehow....they've gotten jobs and educations and got by just fine. Why this new victim routien is being played is beyond me.
I just don't know what you suggest we do? We HAVE laws. We aren't trying to write NEW laws just because of these people. We just want the laws already there enforced. I can't shoot them. I do everything in my power legally to simply have my laws enforced and I expect my government to do just that. Untimately it is their job. They need to do it.
it's a new world now, one with an intense political agenda
Simply put: times have changed and people's concerns also evolve into other concerns...add to that capitalism and there you go!
Because our country has become so PC that we can't seem to do what is right without getting called a racist!
