Why do people migrate to the uk?
Answer:
Because we have free medical, dental, housing, welfare and no restrictions on anyone who can walk, crawl or run across our border.
Because people dont want to work - they want to claim free benefits, free schooling, free NHS and live in rent-free houses (that I pay Taxes towards)
The answer to this question lies in the history of the British Empire (now defunct). We the Brits went all over the world and colonised many lands and made their people her/his majesty's subjects. We made them speak English and in many cases forbade them to speak their own mother tongues. Their textbooks taught them English history, stories of Mother Goose, a Dr Forster who went to a place called Gloucester which they have never seen, and that London was the greatest city in the world. No wonder they felt that the UK was 'home' to them!
Then when we joined the EU, we became the doorway to Europe! Many who had the right to a British passport got one and hopped on the plane. Those who didn't hopped on it as well because they could speak some English. Our border security is non-existent and most illegals are not even detained, and our welfare system is a soft tiuch. Pretty attractive option, don't you think so?
Probably becasue it is such a soft touch, free NHS and benefits for all

Because we have a PM who doesn't care, and lets anyone in. Would he allow strangers to live in his house and consume his resources and space. Yes, let's see him do that when he retires.
It's open door and political correctness gone mad - so wherever they are from, whatever they have done, no matter how bad - we will welcome them.
Unfortunately we don't really get to hear about those who actually contribute something postive (and there are some) but I think most people are just sick of the handout culture we have to immigrants when we are all working so hard ourselves, paying out more and more by way of taxes etc.
Because every thing is free, except for those who have lived here all their life's and paid their tax's, in which case your entitled to nothing. Why are we such mugs ?
Because of the benifits they get from housing to free NHS treatemt and now from what I just found out, they also get a pension even though they haven't worked in this country.

The Brits sell out for easy street and now the karma is coming around on them. The ones coming in have waited out the game and are ahead of the scam. People can be so dim, judging by the answers.
Migration is NOT immigration, but simply workers in the EU moving around from one country to another; as we ourselves are entitled to do. There are migrant workers from other countries of course, but these are usually people doing critical jobs which cannot be filled by UK workers.
Let get something quite clear, there are many thousands of migrant ENGLISH workers in Spain, in holiday destinations and in most other countries of the world, working in banks, hotels,education, industry, medicine etc etc.
There are many students and other young people, who study here, or enjoy a year or so working in another country JUST THE SAME AS MANY YOUNG ENGLISH PEOPLE DO.
Because many companies are international, or have links with factories or businesses abroad, it is absolutely essential to have people moving freely from one country to another. If, for instance, a UK bank was to set up business in any other EU country, they would NEED people of that other country to come to the UK, learn about the business and then return as key employees.
All the above is nothing new, and has happened for centuries in various ways.
However, in recent years, we have seen a large influx (estimated at between 350,000 and 500,000) of migrants workers from Central Europe; from countries like Poland (the largest number), the Czech Republic (a modest number), Slovakia (possibly the second lrgest group), Lithuania (a small number) and Latvia (also a small number).
Many of those migrant workers have come to pick crops in summer, and then return home. Others have found jobs where there have been skill shortages. Some wish to remain here, perhaps permanently, because they would struggle to find any sort of work in their home countries (especially Poland).
I have worked with hundreds of Poles (mostly quite young) and they are fantastic people....friendly, hard-working and very decent. They are also very well educated compared to young English people.
Looking to the future, as Poland (and the other countries) start to emerge from their struggles, wouldn't it be fair to say that the most obvious country with which they want to do business would be England, which has helped so many of them?
I personally think it's one of the best things to have happened in the past half-century, unlike illegal-immigration and bogus asylum-seeking, which have proved to be a disaster.

Benefits, more benefits, and much more benefits, that's the reason to come to the UK. Can anyone blame them when the indigenous people sit on their chuff's and let it happen
