Are Mexicans, Germans & Italians the largest Immigrant groups to the USA?
Answer:
Yes they are!
And if you didn't know..... in the whole the percentage break down of "legal" immigrants is as follows 97% of those who are Italian Immigrants immigrated here legally. 99% of the legal immigrants were also German. However only 4% percent of the Mexican Immigrants are here legally. Now how can that be that only 3% Italians & 1% Germans immigrated here "illegally", But 96% of the Mexicans are Illegal?
That is one point you failed to make.
Absolutely! If you added those 3 groups, they would out number us who are American Born.
Actually Some People Prefer The Term Hispanic.
Yes they are. Germans tended to go to the great lake areas. Italians went to the Northeast, Florida, and San Francisco, and the Mexicans tend to migrate to the southwest.
Why does it even matter? Unless you are 100% Native American you are an immigrant here. Why must we look at faces and analyze each other and judge in our own minds based on color or language as to who is worthy & who is not. It's not our place. As a White person I'm not dumb enough to think my people have always been here. Each new group that comes in gets persecuted mercilessly. When will we learn from our past mistakes? We just need to let each other live in peace.
Don't forget the Irish. They make up a huge chunk of immigrants too.
Oh I disagree. The swedish are much bigger than mexicans. And certain tribes in Africa have some very tall tribesmen. But if ya mean large as a whole, the Samoans have it hands down as the largest.
I dont think so. The reforms of 1965 aimed to promote immigration from Europe by calling for “family reunification” with previous immigrants to the US who, for the most part, were from Europe. Instead, the US experienced immigration mostly from the Caribbean Basin and Southeast Asia with a surge of undocumented illegal immigrants from these same regions. The 1986 immigration reform and control act aimed to address this illegal immigration with some regularization, sanctions against employers who hire illegals, and a guest worker program to fulfill low wage jobs in agriculture. This reform only led to a less than expected turnout of status regularization, increased discrimination of the legal minorities in the workforce, employer abuse toward the illegal minorities, and a continuous increase in illegal immigration overall. Congress has acted to address the shortcomings of the 1986 reform by giving higher priority status to applicants that satisfy labor needs. In so doing, Congress has responded to US Department of Labor forecasts on labor shortages in many areas. Regardless, the issue of regulating immigration remains unsatisfied.
Interestingly, Asians had become the fastest growing group of immigrants during these reforms. They came from the Philippines, South Korea and Taiwan and included new flows from Singapore, Malaysia and Indonesia. There was also a significant increase in Hispanic and West Indian immigration. Meanwhile, rapid economic growth was being experienced in most of these immigrant-sending countries. South Korea is a prime example - not only was it the highest sending country of immigrants, it was among the highest GNP growth rates in the world. In the case of Haiti and the Dominican Republic, one could still argue that poverty and overpopulation were the driving forces, but these forces existed there long before the surge.
That's correct
all people who live in USA are immigrants except the native americans, the british and irish people too (that are the greatest american community of immigrants)
