If you have Indefinite Leave to Remain, you can apply for citizenship after three or five years' residence, depending on if you are married or not, but you must not have spent more than ninety days out of the country in the last year. Not sure if this answers your question? What visa exactly do you have?

Is it settlement? well,i think you got a lawyer to file it for you or how did you get it? my suggestion is that you go back to your lawyer or contact the home office for how long you can stay
