They have to show you a passport or ss card or a green card.
Call up the NIS or Social Security office with the applicant's number and they can tell you who that person is and if the information matches their records.
You just kind of guess.
Staying legit is for the stupid. Use the system to your advantage. First hire them, then if they don't a good job, fire them. Using this method you will have good employees without all the bitchiness associated with the American mentallity.
