What can we do about a run away Government?

Here's an easy answer: Don't go to work. Seriously. If, on one specific day, people didn't show up to work, and I mean EVERYONE, the government wouldn't get that day's tax money, right? That'll certainly put the brakes on a runaway government.
Part of the problem is voters themselves. Less than 50% usually vote in any given election. It's the fault of the people for not paying attention and trying to make a change.

Everytime there is a problem, we don't always look to the Feds to bail us out. We deal with our problems and learn from them. The other thing we as a people need to do is to watch what is going on in the House and Senate and then write our representatives expressing our opinions and wants. The people representing us don't know our wants and desires if we don't tell them. If even half of the people they represented wrote them or e-mailed them, we would have much more control of our government and these loose cannons would not run roughshod over us. We can force the government to do the right thing if we all stand up and tell them what we want.
The Votes, do count. We just need everyone to show up at the Polls to voice their opinion. But, alas, not everyone does. I hope to see you there, at the Polls. Your Vote counts!

They can start by rounding up ALL illegal immigrant's and sending them back to where they belong. Being a U.S. citizen should require a complete understanding of the English language and proper immigration status into the U.S. Companies that hire illegal immigrant's should be fined...1st offense= $100,000.
ZEROCOOL: I do believe you just quoted The Declaration of Independence sir. Im impressed. A Revolution(i.e COMMON DEFENSE OF THESE UNITED STATES) will need to happen. So as not to necessarily change our form of government, but to just clean out what cancer seems to occupy it. Then we will need to vote in all new ppl. Really not that big of a deal. LOL!!!!! The US constitution says that we citizens can throw out the old govt and make a new one, I think thru revolt. Might want to check on that. But, we need to get rid of these politicians and propagandists that are ruining this country. This country was made thru revolutions, don't forget. That is what made this country great, DISSENT!

Short of revolution voting is the most effective way to control our government.
The problem is most people don't really look into the candidate they are voting for, they leave it up to the media to tell them about the candidate, even though most reporters claim they are non-bias nobody really is, everyone of them skew the facts to fit their agenda.
The best thing to do is look at all the candidates thoroughly especially their voting record. Then get out there and inform everyone willing to listen what you have learned.
Another thing that can be done is contact your Representatives they work for you, their job is to do what is best for the district they represent
If that doesn't work there is always Revolution after all that's how this Great Nation was created.
I know that it can be frustrating but this is still our country our government if the people we elect don't listen we elect someone else.
