What hospital do you go to that charges $100 for an emergency visit? I was charged almost three grand when my daughter broke her arm and we didn't have health insurance. I actually had to pay that as apposed to an illegal immigrant who wouldn't have given a social security number that they could have been traced with to get payment. How convenient that just when illegal immigration is being addressed in our country (it was long overdue) the left wing bigots (I'm using your terminology here not mine) have another way to deflect the heat.

I really resent ignorant liberals trying to tell me why I think the way I do. If we spent 500 billion in Iraq then that is 6 years of what it has cost us for illegals. I support immigration and welcome immigrants. It makes life interesting. But I do not support illegals, and I never will. You are closed minded and shallow to not understand the real issues here.

Emergency treatment at what ER's? 86 emergency rooms and hospitals have closed in the border states due to abuses of illegals that ran up millions of dollars (at 100 bucks a pop so you say) and then didn't pay their bills.

Don't be silly! You can't get slapped at the ER for $100! My $75 co-payment is just that, a co-payment. The insurance pays hundreds more. Every time they skip out on a bill, it raises our health insurance rates.
Iraq and illegal immigrants are totally unrelated things. One thing has nothing to do with the other. Although it is only a matter of time before some terrorist slime bag uses our wide open border to get in, if they haven't already.

I am not against anyone coming here. As long as they do it legally. That is why we call them "illegal aliens". By the very act of coming here like that, they are CRIMINALS. If the guidlines are too restrictive, work from within to change the policies. Call your politicians at every level and let them know that you want the policies changed. I have met many legal imigrants in my life, and by and large they are good decent people. My best friend's mother is Panamanian! I have thought of her as my adopted mother for over 20 years. I have also met a few of the illegal ones, and they can be good decent people too. But they broke the law to get here. I think that they should go back to their homeland, and get at teh end of the line to come back here. If that breaks up a family, so be it.
I'm not trying to be mean here, just practical. There is a place for here for them, and NO! I don't care if they move in next door to me. As long as they pick up their trash, mow the lawn, and keep the noise down at night, like anybody else.
On the subject of Iraq, if the politicians would take the leash off our military, this conflict would be over with shortly. Let them do the job they were trained for: hunting & killing the ENEMY! If that were the case the only thing that would be getting wasted in Iraq would be the terrorists.

Cost of supporting illegal immigrants who will get legalization: $30 billion (and YES it would be a net gain, people just dont want to look at the figures that would prove that)
Cost of Iraq war: $500 billion which has not amounted to anything but the death of 3000+ patriotic soilders.
I wonder if all the people on this forum will end up emailing their senators to stop the Iraq war... maybe when the bill gets to $1 Trillion... although I strongly doubt it.
