Immigration/custody?
I'd like to get a divorce. But I'm currently in the middle of spouse immigration. If we break up now, I have to leave the country. And if I didn't have to, I'd want to. That means a custody battle over my son, who was born here. Also, my having been locked away for two years while my husband worked, isn't going to look good in the "responsibility" area. Fair enough except that my husband honestly doesn't give a damn about his son, and will waste his last cash on booze while I'm scraping pennies out of the couch for baby formula. I can't leave my son with that.
I also have no cash of my own, and no access to his.
I need out of this situation before it breaks me, and I don't know how. I have zero proof. Any ideas, any knowledge of divorce/custody proceedings and my chances, would be very very much appreciated

Boy.....it's tough enough as a citizen in this situation let alone all the rest. Been there done that, but never had to risk the possibility of loosing my child because of citizenship.
Paxton is sweet but I don't think many understand that when you say...access to no money literally means access to no money. Plane flights cost money. When you have to dig for change to get enough money for the babies food.....you can't pull hundreds out for a plane ticket no matter how deep you dig. Every move is a risk but there are people to help. I just honestly don't know who to guide you to since it also involves immigration I hope you get some good answers because I have a feeling there are way too many women and children in this situation.
Fly home with your kid, and file papers from there. having your child with you always gives you a slight advantage.
You're right.. There are no agencies out there to help a woman go home who is in the middle of an abusive relationship. If she wanted to go home, she'd have access to money, or the means to do it, and if she cared that much about the kid, she could have it put somewhere else too, if nothing else.
She has no contact with friends, but frequents MyTend as well. I gave my answer so it may be viewed as tact. I don't believe this is a real question, so I was and am unwilling to research a legitimate answer, as she would be doing, by contacting the police, at least via the internet while she had access to it. give me a break, no options, people always have options.
hmm if you are locked in the house for years, why not breast feed, its free. If he is REALLY abusing you, then call the cops.
