He could care less about anyone, particularly the average citizen. The overwhelming majority of us don't want this and he knows it. He also knows that this will continue to drive wages down for those people on the lower end of the wage spectrum, which does have an effect on the shrinking middle class. If we continue to go this route this country will surely be divided among the wealthy and the poor just like it was 100 years ago.

I am dead against the "amnesty for illegals" bill. However, I read something that did make me think. This bill may be Bush's way of trying to deal with a long term problem and show a degree of compassion towards the people caught in the middle. I did give it some merit, but the bottom line is, there are plenty of people who came her legally and who had to jump through a lot of hoops. This bill, on the surface, seems to reward those who snuck into America.
It's greed pure and simple. All this damage so a few can make even more money.
They won't be happy until we gag and bag these criminals ourselves. I laugh every time the border patrol kills one because that's what they get. It's a fact Mexico is a worthless country. The have the third largest oil reserve on the planet but no money. Come to think of it Mexico like most of your Latin countries contribute almost nothing to the rest of the world. That's why USA leads the world in money! If the bill passes I will move down to the border and personally shoot anyone who wants into MY country. NAFTA was pushed through because big business wanted a source of cheaper labor. If American owned companies in Mexico had to pay wages similar to those in the USA, most of the folks trying to jump the border could stay home with their families instead of coming here and sucking our system dry.
I think that is part of it. I think his life is insulated enough that he truly doesn't feel the impacts on schools and hospitals and services, and it is easy for him to think 'much' of the opposition is due to cultural reasons he doesn't have a problem with. It isn't the individuals MOST of us are against (except the 'bad sort'), it is the volume and their impacts on our children's educations and our parents' (and eventually our) health care and social security. Those are factors that simply don't figure in his life.
However, I think his DRIVE for it is for cheap labor, and he is using 'amnesty' as a 'humanitarian cover' (as if taking care of OUR children, poor and sick isn't humanitarian.)
Bush is only doing it for the money. America has enough people. America does not need 20 to 30 million unskilled and uneducated. Last time I checked America already had enough stupid unskilled people.
You want to stop the illegal Mexicans try this:
Don't eat at Mexican food places. I stop 3 yrs ago and lost 15 pounds.
Don't eat at Places that hire Mexicans; IE Micky Dees. In general ,don't eat at fast food places and you will be heather.
Mow your own yard. Saves gas and the exercise is good for you.
Turn in Business to the IRS that use illegals. As a rule of thumb, if a business will hire illegals, then are having to cheat on their income taxes.
Support laws that ban illegals from your community.
Get on your local school, library, public health boards to make sure that resource are not going to books or programs to encourage illegals Mexicans to come to your community.
