How can a woman from Mexico who has lived in US for eight years and married to US citizen receive citizenship?
Answer:
I don't believe that his parents are able to sponser her. He may have sponsored her before her convictions and was able to get citizenship. If she indeed has any felonies, she will eventually be hearing from INS and may loose her citizenship.
If he was born in the US and has a felony, this might not affect him sponsoring his wife. I can only assume that his parents were probably putting a good word for her.
hes parents can't sponser her.Only him as he is her husband.his parents CAN sponser HIm only if they are citizens.
She should just go back to Mexico now! I don't care if she's been here 25 years, she's not suppose to be here!!!!!!!
If she is a felon, there is no way. She is an illegal alien criminal Besides, she would have to go back to START the paperwork anyway, even if they didn't looks at her criminal background.
Just because you are married to a citizen doesn't mean you "receive" citizenship!!! She has to EARN it herself!
In the application form, there are questions regarding previous convictions. She may have trouble and this may affect the results of the application.
Sponsor the citizenship? or sponsor the permanent residency?
If he has low income the parents might be the ones preparing the Affidavit of Support. The convictions have nothing to do with it.
Look, there's no "fast" way to get citizenship. It takes years. Does she even have a Green Card?
