Yes, biologically speaking, there is no one trait that accurately groups people into their origins. If you used skin color, then you would have an albino form Africa being called a German. So biologically speaking there is only one race. But people don't base their opinions and beliefs on science, which is also why half the US doesn't accept evolution.
Simply put they say this out of ignorance. Stupidity is not cute and it causes a lot of problems in society.

There are different ethnicities. Each race has different looks and traits charactaristic to that race. IF an individual of one race tries to live amongst a geographical conglomeration of another ace, they will soon find out that there are large differences.
Also, the continents are Europe, Asia, North America, South America, Australia, Antarctica and lastly Africa.
i know sometimes i get mad because of that, but i guess its the best way to idenify each person,
for example if a guy if running on the loose from the cops then there has to be a better way to idenify him, know what i mean...

We are all one people, all of us come from Africa originally, we are all the same, it is only climate that changed our features over time.
Well uuuuuuuuuuummmm........ I say that were all the same but when people were born in diffrent countrys and diffrent are diffrent races or religon thats why people classify us diffrent from everyone else because of skin, language, and customs.

We are the human race, but blacks, whites, etc., are humans (most of us) but humans don't have to be any particular color (race).

Sorry, I can't let this go on any longer. You say that you were taught in school that there was only the human race. Well, you are right to a point. There is also the different groups that have established themselves as race based. That is just the way they want to look at themselves. You won't change it. It gives them an extra leg to stand on. The "discrimination leg".
Also, I don't know what school you went to, but, there are 7 continents not 5 and there are 2 continents with America in their names. North America and South America as well as Antarctica, Australia, Asia, Africa, and Europe

Humans are indeed the "human race".
For some to take personal pride in something such as a particular name such as "white", "black", "hispanic" always seemed strange to me. If that is all that they have to base their personal worth on - they have more than a few problems.
What happened to having pride in accomplishments - such as helping others, schooling, obstacles overcome - just any number of things?
Race is a small definer of just who and what a person is.
As to your comments about continents - 7, not 5 - two of which are North America and South America.
we all learned the same thing. ask the educated degree toten smart ones why they made these words up. leave it to the pro's. go figure.
Yes we are all part of the human race. Dogs have their own species as well. Same with birds and fish etc. In that species, it is broken down to discribe all the different sub-species in that group. Dogs.....german shepards, lasa apso, collie, poodle. etc. I know even with some of those they are another sub under a group. It helps discribe them better. Distinguish them from others in the same group.
Even within whites it's broken down to hair color, eye color, body build etc....just like with all the other races. There are subtle things that make us different in some way from the next person.
The problem has come in making one more important or better than the others. I don't know if it's pre-programmed in our psychies or what......but just like kids getting in a line behind the teacher....there's always someone fighting to be "me first" because then they think they are better and more important than the others.

my first problem is the assumption that because we define people and place them into groups...that somehow we must have a #1 group...and then every group after #1 group. well...this doesn't have to be true. so i really don't see a problem with calling people black, white, or whatever. if no group is any better or worse than the other..it's simply a way to describe people. what is wrong with that?
