Are there any proposed bills that will stop illegal immigration?

Answer:
As of right now no, but keep in mind that all we really need is enforcement of the laws we have on the books now.
No!
Illegal immigration can be limited but not stopped
no never will if the demand is there corporate America wants them its supply and demand if you stop demanding them do you think they still come here
They don't need new laws, only to inforce the laws on the books, which no one is doing, the stores open, and no ones tending the counter. We need to close and lock the front and back door, then smoke out the intruders.
As far as I know- no!
There was supposed to be a 30ft wall built. It costed 7billion, which makes no sense, but they were only able to come up with 3. That's about all I know. They are wanting to be politically correct, not step on any toes, and we all know Bush is from Texas, and I'm sure illegals pretty much run industrial facilities down there which would me a bill would take money from Texas, so I doubt any thing will pass.
no i have heard some of the government officials are trying to have the illegals become permenent u.s. residents!! How stupid is that!
Not exactly, since it really shouldn't be an issue if the laws were enforced. I would say the closest they had was when they wanted to change the crime of illegal entry to a felony instead of a misdemenor. Next is simply establishing methods to increase our ability to control the flow by building the fence and increasing the manned patrol of the border...etc.

You can't really propose a law for something that is already illegal.
build the fence and place armed guards on the border.
Nothing that would solve it. Isaakson proposed one that would help; it would defer guest worker until after the border were certified secure, etc. I believe it is in committee. SB 9 as I understand it would make it worse, similarly to the Senate Bill last year, however I confess I haven't read it yet.
Illegal immigration has gone on for too long now...it should have been stopped when it started BEFORE the problem got out of hand. But then, you have to consider who is in our political offices.
If you're an illegal alien, you need only four quarters of credit to receive Social Security retirement benefits in the US--unfortunately, bona fide American workers have to have over 40! (Check it out, it's true!) Illegal aliens can also receive the refundable Earned Income Tax Credit, i.e., they get paid by the feds to file a return and NOT pay any taxes. Plus, with Motor Voter laws and certain states opting to issue drivers licenses to illegals, we'll end up with our lawmakers being anointed by those who have no legal right to be here. It's all been a scam on the American working class since the last amnesty bill...a way Republicans and Democrats can vie for votes. So don't believe the Ted Kennedys and myriad others who try to suggest people just want to come here, work hard, and live by the rules. Balterdash!
There have ALWAYS been U.S. laws against the criminal hiring of undocumented foreign workers.
