Some. I had a buddy that I did drywall with, awhile back. He was in the country all nice and legal. He hated the idea of illegal immigration. He was worse than me for name calling. He had waited years for his Visa to come here and work. He is still a Mexican citizen. He was actually chased out of Mexico, more or less, by Pres. Fox for criticizing his handling of immigration,etc. He says that Mexicans sending home money to Mexico is their 2nd biggest form of national income.
What free pass are you talking about? The bill died last week. . .get informed. . .
You have to look at the politics. While we want stricter immigration laws, companies that employ illegals have a strong political platform. They cannot get regular U.S. citizens to work at the minimal wage that they pay. So hell if you do and hell if you don't.

I am a Hispanic American, born here of Mexican parents. But I know that I would hate it if I had done things the right way and only to have a bunch of other people who broke the law get things their way too.
I work at a university so I know a lot of internationals who have spent YEARS trying to get their status correct in the US so they can teach/work/study. How would you like to have waited years for something after following the rules, only to have someone else be given automatic status after coming here illegally?
