"Mr. Bonner said that with the ever-present threat of terrorism, it is critical to take steps necessary to immediately and completely secure the nation's borders, adding that "piecemeal measures" will prolong America's vulnerability and are "an open invitation to further terrorist attacks."
He said the Border Patrol is "totally overwhelmed" by the number of illegal aliens crossing daily into the United States. Last year, the Border Patrol apprehended 1.1 million illegals, more than 3,000 every day.
"Rather than meaningless triggers of additional personnel and barriers outlined in the compromise, Americans must insist that border security be measured in absolute terms," Mr. Bonner said. "Sadly, the plan that the Senate is proposing falls woefully short by that yardstick and needlessly jeopardizes the security of this nation."

What they care about the Border Patrol or us is Nothing folks! The Vote is tomorrow, May 21, 2007 at 9am Eastern Standard Time..call and give it all ya got Scottie! It will make matters worse and they are disregarding the fact they have committed Identity theft against Americans, Legal Residents and have committed Financial fraud! They are going to get a pass. Boycott their homes, offices, CALL, CALL and Call some more, fax, email. Can you say IMPEACHMENT?
If not, they should be. I we think people are running over the border now, wait till word gets out about giving amnesty.
One has to due with it will limit the need for border patrol officer( less illegals / Less officers needed). The other has to do with people hate to deal with change and the border patrol officers are no different.
Because they see first hand the trash that is sneaking into our country and know the terrible results.
The border agents are our first line of defense and get to see how easy it is to just walk over the border, it makes you wonder how many we have walking amongst us that are here to harm us that simply walked across the unprotected parts of the border.
I am sure most illegal aliens are harmless and only want a better life for themselves and their families but our borders are so easy to cross that it stands to reason those who have not so good intentions are crossing too. I hope we never find out but the Fort Dix, NJ plot proves that it is definitely a possibility.

I hope WE all see the Border Patrol get all the money they need to stop this illegal invasion this country is seeing. Give they all the help the need to do what ever it takes to stop the invasion on the U.S Please.
Because the BP knows, as does every housewife in America, that if you want to clean the floor, you MUST first shut the door.
You can't clean the interior of your country until you can effectively shut the door to those 3,000 intruders per day, who are interfering with your efforts to do so. Once those 3,000 have been denied entry, by means of secure borders, we can then concentrate on cleaning house.
A good start would be to prohibit money being sent to Mexico or, at least, tax the frijoles out of it.
Another sanction we are ignoring is a boycott of all Mexican vacation resorts by all loyal Americans...

Apparently our congressmen did not get the message of last November 7th. Guess we'll have to vote out the whole bunch of them at the first opportunity. Or forget the Republicrats entirely and vote in as many independents as possible...
